First time my husband and I eat here and will be back. The food was fresh and delicious and Dylan our waiter was awesome. Highly recommend if you want Italian!
This place is our favorite pizza, Italian, home style food. We have been hooked since we moved to El Cajon about 3 years ago. My Arizona family has come to love it as well and requests to order their food when they visit.

Great menu! My family and I have tried many of the foods on the menu and we have not been dissapointed. There's also a family size and price for a lot of the foods on the menu. Very reasonable and the quality is excellent. The staff and the service is great even thru this pandemic.

Testo Pepesto is a gem on beautiful Main Street in El Cajon. Located across the street from the garden and fountains of the Performing Arts Center, this Italian restaurant shines in an Old World romance. Inside is warm and inviting for a few Happy Hour beers or a full meal. I chose a Pizza Port golden ale (served in a Schooner). Following was mozzarella sticks and a delicious Veal Parmigiana served with spaghetti. The sauces were perfectly seasoned and the veal tender. My girlfriend chose the lobster mac & cheese, a perfectly decadent concoction with a clam chowder accompaniment. Our service was an excellent mix of smiles, giggles, efficiency and genuine care. I will be back and you should too!
The Beer IS ICE COLD. THE OWNER IS A VERY HARD WORKING MAN. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT 100%. THE BEST PIZZA IN TOWN BY FAR.
My friend and I went back to the Testo Pepesto Italian Restaurant and tried a new dish for us. We were nicely greeted as we came into the restaurant by Kislev the server. She worked so hard helping everyone with their take out orders and table orders. We had the combo plates of Eggplant Parmigiana with Cheese Ravioli, and a plate with Chicken Parmigiana with Lasagna. Both dishes were cooked perfectly as the Chicken had a tasty breaded crust, and the Eggplant was so moist and tasty. Their marinara sauce they use is very delicious also. Their homemade Italian bread is very tender, and so tasty. Tyler our server was so nice and does a great job making you feel like you are right at home !
Best pizza and pasta dishes around and the staff is very courteous and cautious during these times! Extra space between tables and always masked when waiting on you.
To others complaining about indoor operations then don’t dine in. restaurants need sufficient capacity to make a profit. You couldn’t afford food here If they actually tried turning a profit with these draconian rules. Adults should be able to assess their own risks.
I applaud the staff and owner here where they go above and beyond to continue to serve us safely in these trying times.
