OMG the food was delicious! I enjoyed every morsel of every single thing on my plate! I can't wait to go back for more. I also love the ambiance of the place. The artwork on the wall is magnificent. What a gem!
I went there last night for quick bday dinner and it was all I imagined. My kids loved the food. My son said my meal taste just like grandma food. My American friend was dining with me enjoyed the beef legumes. Its always great to have my Haitian food every now and then especially when its not available where I live. Then she brought me cake with sparkles.!!
My cousin and I have gone to one of the best Haitian restaurants in the tri-state(NY,NJ,& CT), First Republic Lounge & Restaurant on April 16,2022. Our waiter (recommended our drinks) & service was great. The food was amazing,(not to greasy and or oily). The drinks were okay(I thought it would have been strong). It was kinda pricey (in my opinion) but it was worth every penny. Great service, will always get a great tip from me. It wasn’t my first time there and it won’t be my last time. I highly recommend you go there.
Excellent spot for Haitian cuisine. Beef Legume was amazing. Paired deliciously with the rice and sweet plantains. And of course the Pikliz which is always a must. The Akra for an appetizer was an excellent choice.
I will admit the prices are a bit high depending on the entree of choice & the protein, but the flavor makes up for it.
We did also have to wait a bit for the food to come out.
Overall excellent food, would love to return.
Great Haitian restaurant. The food is great and the drinks and good as well. The music is on point when I went on a Friday night.
I have been to this place a few times but this is my first review. When I arrived I parked on the street and walked in. I was greeted by the bartender and she was very nice and had good conversation. I ordered a sangria and the vegitarian legume with black rice to go. The sangria was pretty good and so was the punch drink I ordered. The food usually takes long to come out so I am glad I had my drink while I waited. The food finally arrived and I paid about $47 for 2 drinks and the food. When I got home I dug in and it was pretty good and there was plenty. I had a pretty good experience.
Food was good, very flavorful. Prices are a little high but good Happy Hr pricing. Service was ok.
First Republic Lounge & Restaurant is my go to spot for Haitian food when in Elizabeth. I love the food and the atmosphere. After 11p, one can stay and dance or just enjoy the vibe.
Excellent Haitian food in NJ. And staff are nice. The photo is blurry. I had griot (fried pork) with rice and beans, a side of sweet plantains with Haitian macaroni and cheese. Delicious cocktails too.
