Was absolutely starving after a busy morning so me and my friend tried this place based on other reviews since there isn't much to choose from in the small town.
I really liked the separation of the bar area and restaurant area. I get tired of all the tv's while I'm eating sometimes, and I definitely have trouble focusing on the conversations going on at my table if something catches my interest on a tv.
They weren't very busy when we got there, but they quickly filled up. Mostly as a result of the local flea market we were at. I think everyone had the same idea we did.
I had a cup of clam chowder, it was pretty good but I think it had bacon in it which I wasn't expecting. Not necessary unexpected in a bad way, but if I was coming on a Friday for Lent could have been bad. But who knows, maybe there is a bacon-free batch on fridays. I had the white stromboli with a side of ranch dressing and marinara sauce. It was absolutely delicious! I love my pizza crust a little underdone and doughy, which was exactly what they gave me. My friend suggested the ranch dressing, not originally being from Pittsburgh I'm not exactly a ranch fan, but as a dipping sauce with the stromboli it was yummy. Everything came out hot and the cheeses were nice and melted inside the stromboli.
As for the service, it was a bit lacking, but as I mentioned before they filled up quickly after we got there. They were definitely a bit overwhelmed. One of the servers had been at the vendor part of the flea market earlier and was back to help because they were so slammed. We didn't see our server as much as I would have liked to get refills and missing sides, but it was understandable. If I am ever in this area again I would definitely come back for the stromboli.
Good food, friendly atmosphere, attentive competent staff.. Our group of friends and family has been going here for a very long time. 2 to 3 times a week for the past 20 years or so. Extensive menu and great daily specials. And the very best pizza in the area. We love the place and always have a great time. So, I guess you could call us ""old regulars".
To that point, I'd like to address the review by 62sss375: You complain about the "old regulars" being so loud and having a good time: If you want a nice quiet meal, sit in the dining room instead of the bar. That way you won't have to struggle with the "jet-like engine roar of our laughter". BTW, we've pretty much figured out who you are and, in my opinion, THAT's what's really so GD funny.
It's our place to go. That simple.. We've been going to the Carriage Inn regularly for probably 25 to 30 years. That, in itself, has to tell you something. Over that period of time we've grown to consider most of the management and staff there pretty much family. It's not a fancy gourmet experience, although they do whip up some pretty awesome daily specials. Rather, it's a convenient place where you can get a good meal at a fair price. They are not the only game in town but they are the game we prefer to play, two to three times per week. The staff and management are always attentive. They have an extensive menu where you can count on the quality of food and service to be consistent week in and week out. If you are in the area, give them a try. You won't be disappointed. BTW, in my opinion, they have the very best pizza in the area. Hands down!
Kid Friendly!!!. Kid Friendly Yes, they sure are!!! Our hostess placed us in a booth with a TV, turned on spongebob for the kids because all the other TV's had games on, gave them coloring books and goldfish crackers while we waited!! Fantastic service!!!!
I was there for dinner 11-14-13 a Thursday night with my husband and kids. The build your own burger is great. They enjoyed their soups like always and I must say our waitress was the most pleasant one we have had there in a long time. Very bubbly and outgoing. Really made our bad day a great dinner and put smiles on our faces. I was reading reviews and decided this girl needs recognized for outstanding service. I lost the receipt she gave me but I believe her name was kristie. If you read this great job and we will be back to see you! Thank you

Five Stars for "Cheers" ambiance & fabulous food. I felt I should write a review because I eat at Carriage Inn every month or so and have consistently had good experiences. The waiters & waitresses are always friendly, the food is an outstanding value, I love everything from their salads to their specials and everything in between, especially the appetizers. Never had a bad meal. I feel comfortable there. It's a clean place, too, including the rest rooms. Yes, sometimes they are really busy and the service can be a little slow as a result of that, but hey, it's a popular place and when you go to a nice restaurant you often have to wait a little to be seated or for your order to arrive. It's by far my favorite local restaurant.
Good food, but a little pricey (especially the wings!)
Had a very good time here! It is definitely a nice place to go with family and friends! All of the food was delicious! Service was great a very nice friendly staff! My family will definitely be back!
Great food large portions and a good price. We sat at the bar and the service was spectacular. Recommend for a lunch or dinner
Our venue at Sunset Room had Carriage Inn as one of their choices for catering. We had a Sunday brunch wedding, and their food was amazing. Everyone loved their food (cheesy potato casserole in particular). We had a mixed green salad, french toast, sausage gravy and biscuits, chicken fajitas and a cheesy potato casserole. The guests (and us) absolutely loved it! Highly recommend for catering.
One of our favorite places to eat out. The food and staff are amazing and treat us like family when we’re there. We started ordering from Carriage Inn during Covid, and have had pretty exemplary service for each of our visits/orders throughout. For the very few times we’ve had issues, with an order for example, they’ve sought to remedy the issue with us. So honestly this place is pretty awesome all around.
It’s difficult to identify when the busy hours are here admittedly, there could be a private party for example that takes up a lot of seats and makes the atmosphere more noisy, and during those times the parking lot is a bit of a nightmare to be honest. We just had to abandon our wait there today since there was no movement in the line, and we were stuck waiting outside (we have backup locations at least). However, I’m personally happy to see them thriving when so many other businesses didn’t survive the pandemic.
Fish sandwich was overcooked and it took almost an hour to get our food once we ordered. They were very busy and it was extremely LOUD in there. We couldn't even really carry on a conversation. We will go again but not if they're jam packed. Today is Friday, 2/4 at lunch time. This pizza is outstanding! This fish sandwich is a good that they call "small". Look how big! 5/3/2022 went there for a book signing w/ my sister. It was a lovely lovely event. We both loved the entire program and talking with the author. The hors d'oeurves were delicious and all the ladies who were there were very nice and we all talked & laughed all evening.
I was so impressed last evening at dinner. The restaurant was so busy, but everyone was helping (servers, kitchen staff, and manager(?). I saw the manager (?) on his hands and knees cleaning under a table! All the staff wore smiles even though they were continously running. Our server was attentive and so very nice! I see you Carriage Inn! Nice job! Additionally, the food was delicious!
