This is a gem of a place in old town. If you're looking for a cheap bar with cheap drinks & mediocre bar food, you've come to the wrong place. Ace Gillett's is an experience...with delicious and creative dishes, thoughtfully hand-crafted drinks, and friendly and knowledgeable staff, you will be hard pressed to find another place like it in Fort Collins. Oh, and the creme brulee is an absolute must-try!
If you are tiring of pub food and super duper casual and want something elegant, Ace is the Place! EVERYONE is attentive, the three piece jazz ensemble is perfect for the ambience, our duck confit and pork cheeks were excellent as well as the drinks. Romantic. Perfect for couples. Small, intimate. And wonderfully affordable. I'm not sure how they do it! A small dance floor would be nice if the music inspired a west coast swing or rumba step. Otherwise, this is our new go-to place to show off Fort Collins to visitors or have a date night where we can "gussy up" a bit from our Colorado Casual. Although attire is dressy to casual, this is one place to err on the side of dressy and have some fun!
Where do I start? This was the BEST bar experience I’ve ever had. The staff (shoutout to Val and Benjamin) are so incredibly friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. We spent two nights at the hotel upstairs, which was perfect because we came in for drinks 3 times in the short 48 hours there. The menu is fantastic (food and drink). If you can, hangout at the bar and get to the know staff. Also, huge win that they have great music (live and DJ) in a beautiful setting. Thank you so much, everyone! We can’t wait to come back!
Absolutely a terrific place!
Wish I’d found it sooner!
Incredible cocktails made by a very conscientious bar staff that really enjoys their craft and fantastic food served by an attentive waitstaff made my visit here very memorable.
The evening I was there they had a pianist playing classics that really set the tone for this upscale, 100 year old lounge.
It’s now on my list to visit each time I’m in FOCO.
Great cocktail lounge! Waitstaff and bartenders are very friendly and a lot of fun! Food was very good. The vinyl record player sounded great and the music selection was on point. We'll be back next time we're in town for sure!
The drinks were great and creative, the staff were kind, and the music was lovely. My only complaint was that I would definatly consider the food overpriced. I ordered the surf and turf which was under seasoned and lackluster. The sides are extremely small for their price as well. Overall though a great atmosphere and vibe.
Wow what a great experience. From the welcome to the positive vibes coming from the staff, our server, other patrons and the jazz pianist, it was a great evening. It was like you were relaxing in someone’s living room. Great menu. Tasty drink and appetizer options and the dinner choices were just as great. We ordered the Grasshopper and the Dedushka for drinks and a flat bread with Prosciutto and other yummy toppings. For dinner we had the Beef Stroganoff, Steak & Tots and the Surf and Turf. Dessert consisted of Strawberry Shortcake. The best part besides the excellent food and the top-notch service was the jazz pianist…you just wanted to sit there and relax and listen…and that’s exactly what we did. Thank you Ace Gillette’s, we will be back!
Absolutely love the atmosphere and anyone who works here. Always have a wonderful experience. Highly suggest. My boyfriend and I always have our celebration drinks or dinner here. So thankful for this place existing.
Me and my wife had our date night here. First time coming in. WOW! Atmosphere is great, the love piano you can't beat. Not too loud but creates a mood you don't want to leave. Best part of the experience was our bar tender. Sitting at the bar with a first hand look at all the drinks, he obviously loved his job and took a lot of care and pride in his art, and not just with our drinks. Thank you Sandy, We will be back and bringing friends.
I was looking for a place that had ample comfortable seating in a lounge-like configuration. Someplace where it was still socially active but very chill was the goal. This place delivered, and I visited on two busy weekend nights back-to-back. I had no trouble being seated somewhere great! And the drinks were awesome! Ruby Soho might be a new favorite. Margarita Flatbread was pretty good and it was big enough to call it a meal.
