The atmosphere was very romantic. From the valet to the end of our meal we felt pampered. We sat outside on the big open deck. It was meticulously landscaped and lit up just enough. The koi pond was a lovely touch.
The food was also incredible. The homemade bread was a great start. I had the seafood procuitto fettuccine and enjoyed every last bite. My girlfriend enjoyed the ribeye, mashed potatoes and onion straws. She finished with the creme’ brûlée which she said was good but needed more vanilla flavor. I finished with a delicious cappuccino.
The wine list was long and next time I will definitely have to try a bottle. The wine by the glass is limited to one option in merlot, Cabernet, and Pinot Noir. I lean towards wine blends and didn’t feel like having more than one glass that night.
Finally, our waiter John was friendly and prompt. He had a lot of menu knowledge and we enjoyed the information he shared about places to go in Ft. Myers during our stay.
We will be back next time we vacation here. Highly recommend checking this out.

Our second visit to the Veranda. Sat at the bar and met an amazing young lady, Vanessa. Bar tender, waitress extraordinaire! Wonderful food and atmosphere. Escargot was beyond description, rich blue cheese flavor with a flaky pastry. Blackened shrimp with a pineapple carpaccio, and finally perfectly seasoned scallops.
Our first trip, the same wonderful cuisine with a grumpy older waiter who we intentionally avoided this trip. Oddly enough he was obviously still rude as ever as we were lucky enough to observe his interactions with peers via our bar stool. Experience should never allow for rudeness. He comes across as a bully. Shame on him! Again!

The "Veranda", 2nd St, Fort Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat.
My drink The brandy separator... They knew how to make it and present it. WOW... My meal... Medium rare skirt steak, with a freshly made sauce from Argentina, olive oil , basil leaves, crush garlic and other herbs and spices. The creamy mash potato with a touch of garlic, sliced veggies carrot, zucchini,yellow squash steamed to perfection. Ahh yes Lets not forget the freshly made bread that whiffs throughout the establishment coated with honey with added decadence of more butter to be sladdy over it.
This is not a place you go to eat or chow down. You come here to dine to have a slow wonderful experience and enjoy a fine meal of your choosing. Maybe finish a business deal or Look romantically in the eyes of your soul mate. That will bedded down later that day.
Where service is alway a 10 and meals done to your liking.
Old School in downtown Fort Myers, Fl. For those of us who appreciate and remember the way should be experince.
From JohnC. We had a courtyard burger last week and really enjoyed it for lunch. One of my wife's favorite evening resturant. Also my sister's, who with her deceased husband used to eat there quite often, Lila would play a special song every time they came in at night. We took her there last month when she visited us, that was the high lite of her trip.

A Memorable Dinner. Found the Veranda restaurant thru the Urbanspoon website.
We had a momorable evening. Our waiter, Brett, was personable and friendly as was our associate waiter, Jacques. The repartee was friendly, entertaining and helpfull. Tableside service was refreshing, the food was superbly cooked and presented. All in all......5 out of 5.
A Place for Foodies!. We were looking for "foodie food" on our honeymoon and finally found it at the Veranda. It's dressy, so make sure you at least comb your hair before you go. The building is sorta old school with lots of little nooks with tables tucked away for a very romantic atmosphere. The food was ah.ma.zing. I had steak and mushrooms, hubby had the lamb. We also had two appetizers and two desserts, a glass of wine and coffee, and our total bill was only like $30 bucks more than the prawnbroker (boo hiss, boo hiss). Anyway, the Veranda has awesome food, super romantic, spend the money and take her there, fellas!
CLASS AND PERFECTION. I've been coming here for a good 15 years and hope to enjoy this gem for another 15. The atmosphere and service is near perfection and the food is always a pleasant reward. The piano bar is always entertaining ( I miss Lila) and you'll always feel comfortable and at home. More establishments in Fort Myers should use The Veranda as thier training guide!

Nostalgic return. There's something special about this place. sitting on the patio is fabulous. it feels like old Fort Myers minus the racism thankfully. it may cost a bit, and it's a nice place to impress a date. Worth going for after work drinks, too.
Hands down one of SW Florida's landmark best restaurants, and great piano music to boot! You never know who you'll run into here.
An old school, humble restaurant. The ribeye and salmon were outstanding. Service was great, beautiful outside area…. We did not dine outside, too humid. We sat inside at a cozy table for two. Bread, drinks, & dinner were wonderful. Highly recommend!
Celebrated my birthday dinner here and was so pleased! Service was wonderful, food was great, and atmosphere was both cozy and charming. Give this place a go! You won’t be disappointed.
I made a reservation for my girlfriend and I to have a surprise birthday dinner for her (she had no idea). As a couple who don't usually go to a restaurant of this caliber (valet, white tablecloths, waiters in tuxedos, and price) this was a very special and fun night for us. The waiter was excellent as was the food. We followed the waiter's recommendations and were not disappointed. From the fresh caesar salad made table side to the sea bass and lamb. it was fantastic. When we asked our waiter for wines that would pair nicely with our meals we were once again not disappointed. The trick (relighting) candle in my girlfriend's desert was the perfect way to end the night.

Always excellent food and impeccable service. We had a phenomenal dinner last evening at The Veranda. Wonderful ambience, Southern hospitality and service. The food was amazing from the Carpaccio and Escargot to the Chateaubriand, Caesar salad prepared tableside, and the yummy desserts. Our waiter, Pete, was incredible. Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! It was an unhurried dinner. No rushing of the food. There was time to breathe between courses and we sat over our coffee and dessert and chatted. No one rushed us out of the restaurant! It was relaxing and pleasant as you would expect a classic Southern restaurant to be. Highly recommend!
My wife and I visited The Veranda and were amazed at the aesthetics and atmosphere. Our waiter (Jesse) was very professional and funny! The presentation and quality of the food was great! I had Grilled Black Angus Ribeye Steak and my wife had New York Strip. We enjoyed ourselves and took pictures with the beautiful background. Such a warm, welcoming, and elegant environment!
Excellent service in a nice atmosphere. It's not quite as nice as it's advertised, there are plenty of people in less than dress code. Food was great, drinks were lovely.
The service is topnotch! You can get salad made right at your table. Also dessert table-side. This ambiance is really dark and romantic. The waiter we had was amazing. He filled our drinks with out having to ask. The blue crab appe was amazing. We got the Chilean Sea Bass with rissoto amazing! The Ribeye with the butter in top was literally the best steak I have ever had and I have been all over the US. The salads were great, they hand make the dressing. The dessert menu was out of this world. Best Key Lime pie around! The outside seating is really neat nestled in some banyan trees. Make sure to bring money to valet. Parking is hard over there. The old house that is the restaurant is so neat. Good vibes.
Atmosphere, incredible. Food presentation and flavor was perfect. Wait staff was very professional yet fun. Escargot, crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms for starters were all good. Seared Jumbo Scallops and the Southern Sampler were great. Don't forget the key lime pie and homemade ice cream!!!
Did I forget they make awesome signature martinis!
Floridian charm restaurant. Although it's indoor area is very nice, but I feel like the patio is more charming. The food was very delicious and their service was also outstanding too. Enjoy my first experience there.
