I was craving some good ole southern cooking and so we decided to go here. It’s is so hard to find country/soul food around here. I really enjoyed the mashed potatoes, turnip greens, fried chicken breast, gravy on the side and green beans. Cornbread was good and tea was excellent. I had half/half tea so it wasn’t too sweet which is the way I like mine. Hubby had roast beef, mac and cheese and corn.
We did not have to wait long to be seated and the service was great. If I had to give and suggestions I would say green beans were a little to greasy so they need to work on that and my hubby says he did not have enough veggies/potatoes with his roast beef. This visit was very enjoyable and we plan on returning and maybe try breakfast/brunch. I would recommend this restaurant to try
Went in today with my husband for lunch to celebrate National Pie Day. We had a little wait, but only 5 minutes. I had the chicken fried steak and 3 veggies....soooooo good! My husband had a steak, not the best but ok. Our waitress was amazing. Checked on us, but didn’t rush us. Anticipated needs of refills etc. Since it was Pie day we eat got our free slices and while saying we wouldn’t eat but a few bites it was just too yummy to pass up! Hubs had the lemon meringue and I had the coconut....yum! Thanks for the great food and amazing free slices!
My daughter and I stopped for a late lunch today on a whim. Neither of us had ever ate at Norma's. I am from Georgia, on vacation. The atmosphere is amazing, the decor so old style diner you can't help but love it. Chase B., our server, was so nice and knowledgeable and recommended his favorites for us. We both ended up eating something he hadn't tried. LOL. My daughter had the Mac&Cheese Burger and I had the Southern Fried Catfish platter, with a cup of chili. Chase was floored by my liberal use of sour cream on the chili, (it's a Georgia thing, LOL), and said he was going to try it! The food was superb! Everything was cooked to perfection. We ate like little pigs. Chase was on point with drink refills and even offered dessert, but we were stuffed. We ordered an order to go for my daughter's husband who was at home watching the baby. I'm flying back to Savannah on Wednesday, but you can lay money on the table: I will be back again. Norma's is my "goto" for great American comfort food in the Dallas Area. BTW, my naughty daughter recommended you guys to Diners, Drive-In's and Dives!! I hope you get a visit from Guy real soon!!
