Revolucion Mexican Grill

It has been a long time since I've left a restaurant and couldn't stop talking about it all night. We woke up and we're still talking about how delicious the dang food was. So my hubby and I were up for some food and a drink after work on a Friday, it's difficult with two kids as your limited to Buffalo wild wings or don José lol so we ventured off to downtown Fullerton were there are lots of restaurant/bar type places.

Our original destination was not successful with kids in tow so we continued to walk to the next interesting place - a lil taco cantina vibe. We said awe what the heck we are out for a quick bite nothing fancy.

Head into this place that says seat yourself so we wonder in waiting for someone to kick us out bc of the kids (14 YO) 8pm just as fullerton is waking up. Waiter came and it was on....ordered some drinks and was brought a menu. Wow, Wow was not expecting that full menu I couldn't decide.

Hubby got the molcajete. All I can say is wow. It was never ending bowl of deliciousness full of flavor. 2 or 3 people can share that thing. I got a make your taco kind of deal it was a bit weird as it was served fajita style, but whatever the dang meat on there was unbelievable. I can't remember the last time I had meat that tender that was seasoned.

Waiter was good, started off by asking her to please wipe the table it was sticky (well we are in a bar). No problem table wiped. So fast forward and it's going on 10pm workers are removing restaurant tables and club is about to begin as people in nightlife attire begin to roll in. We are not dumb we had two teenagers with us...waiting for them to say pack it up and get out. Never once did they say that, but sure they saw us trying to hurry with our last bites. They were patiently waiting for us to leave as it was the last table to remove for the dance floor.

So why not 5 stars...that is perfection. The strawberry lemonade was water with some syrup maybe from the bar and we ordered flour tortillas but got corn. However the waiter didn't write down the order so we were even impressed the rest of the order came as requested. But no problem with that she swiftly brought over some flour tortillas.

Let me tell you we will be going back. Don't let the outside fool you like it's a lil taco shack!

What's not to love here, the staff, ownership, management etc are all wonderful, and we feel like part of the family. The food here has really been elevated, and I mean every dish!! Chef Pablo has got a lot of great ideas and has really put in the work to polish up this menu. For many years this place was really only know for the party atmosphere at night, but let me tell you if you're not coming here to eat your really missing out. Come try some gourmet tacos, or enchiladas, perhaps their newly revised chicken molé. Trust in the fact no matter what you order it will have the service, presentation and most of all be one of the most delicious meals you're had in a while I promise. Tell them you saw my review and want them to prove how good their food is, you'll thank me later.!!

Bartender, Jorge told me about their mezcal, Firme mezcal. Had a shot of a rather tasty, smokey mezcal and then a recommended Naked and Famous mezcal cocktail. Best mixed drinks in Fullerton. Best bar in Fullerton hands down. Such a friendly staff. Food is great also. Large selection of taco choices. I'd have to say they have the best Taco Tuesday in Fullerton. $15 all you can eat tacos

We came out for happy hour yesterday and it was our first visit to this cantina. It was AWESOME! The drinks are great (they use REAL fruit juice if you ask)! We ordered chicken fajitas and it was well enough for us both to share. It’s served with an assortment of different house made sauces and salsa. Our server (I did not get her name) is 5 stars alone! She was attentive and very kind. The restaurant is very clean comfortable. There wasn’t a lot of people which was nice. They offered everyone in the restaurant a complimentary candy shot, and it was delicious! Even the kitchen manager came out to get our feedback and chat. We’ll be back! 😁

This place was great. Had the surf and turf tacos and they were delicious. They have the best salsa dips too!! The atmosphere is very energetic. Music is always good and love that it turns into dancing area after. They have a great reggaeton/hip hop vibe! Always get the royal treatment when we are there.

Revolution Cantina is such a great find. I went there for my first time last night for Taco Tuesday and cannot believe I had not found this place sooner. AYCE tacos were amazing, the food was so authentic, had unique flavors and the presentation was top notch. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. This restaurant just opened after being closed during Covid and you can tell that they are all so happy and grateful to be back serving their customers! Great find and I will definitely be back again! Fiesta platter was delicious and the smoked pineapple margarita was such a treat!
