Dinner. I had the salmon bowl with seaweed/ cucumber salad and miso soup and it was delicious. I took a spicy tuna roll home for a snack and it was good.
We have ate there 4 times in the last 3 weeks and each time the food is hot and the service is top notch. This place is our new staple for Japanese food!
I came here to try out the Udon noodles rather than drive 23 miles to a Los Angeles udon noodle joint and it was totally worth it. For less than $12 we had two bowls of udon noodles for two people...best price ever for a Saturday night. As for the flavor it was spectacular. I totally recommend it to anybody wanting to chow on udon noodles; we ordered ours with chicken.
My only complaint is the total lack of sensitivity to the environment... if you order to-go, everything comes in styrofoam... and even if you order miso-soup "in house", it comes in a styrofoam container. There are so many other great options for alternative sustainable materials that there really is no excuse anymore... (so, minus one star for that)
I love you Sansai & I eat your avocado rolls like 3x a week!!! But PLEASE rethink your true commitment to being "natural" as advertised & start using more sustainable materials!
First time trying it out and I thought it was a great price for the quantity and quality of food you get. Definitely coming back soon.
Went here for the first time lunch - we had the Hashim special - it was okay but nothing special. The service was excellent, perhaps the rolls are better.
Great food price is reasonable. The flamboyant cashier was a really good host.
