Service was super fast and food portion was huge! More authentic than most Americanized Chinese food. Clean and comfortable dining environment. We ordered beef noodle soup, pan fried dumplings, pork fried rice and beef chow fen (fat rice noodle). The dumplings were a notch above.
This restaurant is famous for its chinese ban, a type of small round shaped dumpling. It's really good. We ordered 3 servings, each comes with 6 bans. We finished it so quickly. We also ordered some spicy food. They are delicious as well. I really wanted to rate it 5 stars but unfortunately, I don't like the waiter there. He's mean. The waitress is much nicer. I would recommend anyone who hasn't tried the Chinese ban yet to go there and try it. You won't regret.
Delicious! Vegetarian-friendly as well. My dad and I ordered the mixed vegetable noodle soup and my brother had the beef noodle soup. We also ordered crab and pork soup dumpling, recommended by our waiter. Loved the vegetable noodle soup - it had a nice, clear broth with a colorful array of vegetables (not overcooked). The xiao long bao were delicious as well. Will come again!
Total fun place for casual meals or group hang out. Real authentic Chinese food. Strongly recommend Golden Beef and Soup dumplings. Decoration is more modern Chinese than lots of other places. If you dare to try, ask for the tripe and beef spicy cold dish ;)
I have to add this: my husband and I left our credit card there and they held on to it safe and sound until I pick it up.
One of the few places for soup dumplings, but Bob's 66 is way better. Great other dishes here such as fried tofu and stir fried eggplant
JDS Shanghai is one of my favorite spots for Chinese good quality food. The place itself is very cozy and service very helpful and accommodating. Everytime I go there I definitely get xiaolongbao. One serving has 6 of xiaolongbao and for two of us we would get four of these servings plus wonton soups. Long story short, this is the prime spot to get Xiaolongbao:)
The food is five star, but service is barely two stars. Loved the xiao long bao, lamb with cumin, and Japanese yam dishes. Unfortunately, the staff are sullen and bad tempered.
Service is extremely fast. The waiters are nice and welcoming. The food is fresh and delicious. Tasty dishes include: Fish Fillet in Sweet and Sour Sauce found under Seafood, Pork Soup Dumpling found under Dumpling Bao, Pan Fried Pork Bao found under Dumpling Bao, Black Fungus Mix Salad under Appetizer, and Chicken Corn Soup and Egg Drop Soup found under Soup.
Some of the best Xiaolongbao I've had. The spicy pork are hands down my favorite.
I'll be back for sure.
The soup dumplings are on par or even better with Shanghai Taste. What they do better than other soup dumpling joints are several other stand out dishes throughout their menu. And the service, atmosphere and no wait times make this restaurant a better choice.
