This is a simple and unassuming place, but I was really pleased with the food. We had the typical Indian fare of Butter chicken and Chicken curry. The portions were large which allowed us to save some for later. The seasoning was good, and the chicken was soft and cooked perfectly. The only reason I don't give the place 5 stars is because meals should include more variety of sides. Instead of a large portion of rice, I would have preferred maybe less rice and some bread alongside it. Otherwise, I would certainly come back.
My food was delicious. I read a lot of negative reviews about service, but service was friendly and seemed fine to me. A little slow maybe. But not a big deal.
7/12 UPDATE: went back following day and food was delicious again. Different kitchen staff and service was still great.
Pretty delicious place in my opinion and I actually think the portions are good value for your money but perhaps they have changed since the that particular review was posted. The guy running it is nice and remembers you typically when you come in.
The place is small so I am not sure how they would add more tables. Order and go kind of place.
The naan is store bought and not "fresh", however

This is an express take out eatery, not a decorated eat in restaurant, but there are a couple of tables if you want to eat in. I chose & recommend the take out experience. I ordered their Kadai with bread and their butter chicken with rice. Quite frankly words can not express how delicious & fresh this food tasted. I can tell you that it was very rich in flavor and beats even restaurants I have visited in bigger cities such as NYC, Philly, etc. I was moved to call the owners & leave this review immediately after. I love their butter chicken and the samosas. I drove out of my way today to grab lunch at Minerva Express. If you want the full treatment, the Minerva restaurant on 355 at Shady Grove Rd has a lunch buffet. The Express location has about 5 tables to eat in, and they do a brisk business with carryout orders. Delicious!
Delicious, good value, hole in wall. But you must ask for no spice for light spicy, and if you forget you get pretty hot. Their mild is above what I would call mild. Price was pint container $9.95 with another pint for rice included. Gave us second pint of rice for free.
This is out go to place to pick up a south Indian meal. Food has always been excellent very fresh, tasty and good portions that last a couple of meals. Sometimes menu items are not available but the core menu is normally no problem. Very friendly staff and great "hole in the wall" place.
Minerva Indian cuisine might seem like a small, dingy place, but the food quality beats the looks. The customer service is great, judging that it is a small restaurant. Also, the food was very good, and had bery big portions, at least for the Chicken Biryani. I recommend this place
It is a small restaurant located in Gaithersburg Square. While this place offers dine-in option, it's mostly popular for take-out orders and if you're ordering only one dish, then it usually takes them just 10-15 mins to prepare it; hence, the word "express" in their name.
First time, I ordered a mysore masala dosa, but I received masala dosa. The dosa was bigger than what I expected, but not enough sambar or coconut chutney to go with it. Second time, I ordered a vegetable biryani and again, the quantity was a lot more than I expected.
Bottom-line: It is not the best tasting Indian food, but it is good for getting a quick fix. They prepare the food right in front of you, so that's a plus.

The Lamb and Chicken combo is divine!!! I've come here a few times for a luncheon with my employees, would definitely recommend you get out there and try it!
