I have gotten food, desserts and boba from here for a few years and have always enjoyed everything. Their menu is smaller than the one in Rockville, but it seems to be growing over the years.
I am not sure why there is such bad reviews, the staff are always nice when I go and the food is good. Last time I ate in person and got a Taiwanese shaved ice, which isn't on the menu. It was really big and they have all the toppings that they offer for boba.
Their boba is good, and is less pricey than the other boba tea places in Germantown.
I love their Taiwanese chicken and green beans. The combo with the ground pork rice is always a hit. They just added a grilled chicken option, which was good and makes eating here a little bit healthier. The spring rolls are also really good and are a great value (3 for $3.50).
The portions are generous, and they give a lot of chicken in the combos.
Also not on their online menu are the taro balls. These are so good and worth the wait, since you have to order them in person.
They don't have a lot of seating inside, so take out is recommended for the food. It is fine for a quick dessert.
Holy cow, if you are into the fried chicken craze, Jumbo Jumbo is a must. Bon Chon is good, but the flavor of the Taiwanese chicken here beats it hands down. Don't expect as much crunch.
I had the fried combo (chicken, tofu, squid). I didn't love the squid as it had a bit of fishy aftertaste that I don't generally get in calamari. The chicken and the tofu were spectacular.
Good value for the price.
I have been to the location in Rockville that closed. This was just as good.
Highly recommend.
Popcorn chicken was perfect: light, crispy, tender, very tasty with a very slight bit of kick.
Beef in the noodles soup was really good. Tender but still a little bit of a chew. The noodles themselves were disappointing though. Not sure if they were just overcooked or just not very good noodles.
My only other gripe is the cheap disposable plates and cutlery etc!!!
I always get regular milk tea every time i go here and it is the best bubble tea i have ever tasted.
I ordered takeout from jumbo jumbo. The food was delicious, but I know that if I got it fresh, it would have been better. I got the pork chop and the Taiwanese fried chicken. I can only imagine what the taste like had I eaten it there. Added bonus is that their boba and smoothie options are excellent (and huge)!
Jumbo Jumbo is wonderful. Service is always extremely friendly, everyone seems so genuinely kind. I love the almond milk tea and oh man...the fried squid is so good. So so good.
A Taiwanese style restaurant well known by it's boba milk tea. The menu is a bit short in this restaurant, fortunately, the most common or say the most welcome food and drink, boba milk tea and Taiwanese chicken are available. Basically, I will order these two items all the times, plus some other food occasionally.
Not sure is my memory problems or not, the staffs seems changing a bit often these days. The food quality is the only thing I did like to complain. Sometimes good, sometimes below average. Just wish them have a better quality control.
Anyhow, still visiting this restaurant every now and then to show support, especially during the pandemic. Small business requires people support to survive.
They have awesome boba options and some food choices too.
Literally the best and the staff is so caring and attentive. Always get the same order of a jumbo strawberry black tea and fried tofu. I am usually the type that loves to try the whole menu but at this point this order is absolute comfort food, I can't help but order my favorite pick.
The food here is amazing. The chicken has so much flavor and just the right amount of crispiness! I also ordered a taro milk tea which tasted great. The wait time was short. Will be coming back!
