Got the four meat plate and the stuffed baked potato. The brisket had good flavor but was a little dry. The pulled pork was very delicious. The sausage had very good texture and tasted great. The ribs were very tender with ok taste. The Cajun potato salad was different but good.
This place has the best frozen drinks! Bbq was okay. Their French fries are really good. Potato salad was good. Their pulled pork was tasty. Ribs tasted old.
Service wasn’t the best. One staff member was rude when I asked for to go for utensils.
We were happy to find this BBQ restaurant open past 8pm on a Sunday, and we really enjoyed our meals here! The prices are great and portions are plentiful. The food was fantastic. We ordered two of the 2 meat platters, one with sausage and brisket, and one with brisket and chicken. There are a lot of choices for sides, which is awesome. I had the mac and cheese and green beans. My boyfriend had the giant loaded baked potato, which he said was amazing. The staff were great to interact with and our food was out pretty quickly. We’d definitely come back here again!
Went for lunch there with friends. We ordered Brisket Sandwich, Brisket Tacos, 1 meat plate with brisket as meat choice, mashed potato, and mac & cheese, and another 1 meat plate with brisket, fried okra, and french fries. The food was okay. The briskets were too sweet. I also ordered a mango margarita. It was good.
It is in a convenient place along the seawall. Fairly standard bbq place, like Papas but with a Cajun flare. You order your food at the counter. I had brisket and sausage, nice bbq along with "loaded baked potato," which was chopped baked potato with cheese and other stuff. I liked it. The fries were seasoned battered. My wife had the chopped brisket sandwich. She enjoyed it. Good place to go if you have a hankering for bbq. They have outside seating as well as inside.
Best bbq sandwich I’ve had hands down. The monster is an amazing combination of bbq and burger. The flavors completed so well. The queso that came with the fries was better than any queso I’ve had yet. Amazing food. Fast. And we don’t have to worry about a waitress coming around asking if we need refills. We can walk up and refill ourselves! Thanks for making this an amazing meal!
First time in Galveston. I wanted some good Texas brisket. It didn't live up to the received accolades.
Staff was friendly and enjoyed the outdoor seating. Not many restaurants on the beach. This was close, and the breeze off the gulf was pleasant.
This place is what I would call average. The bbq was ok. I'm not sure why they had so many trophies for the brisket. It was ok, but nothing on the level of the number of trophies they displayed for it.
The service was good. A bit disorganized ( we were asked three times if food was ours and it wasn't... like two bbq items, and we had 6 people). We did get our food pretty quickly.
My favorite item was the chichirones. It's had a good spice, but not burn your mouth hot.
The"cajun" potato salad needed some cajun to it. There is no spice to it at all. It had mustard, but that is the jist of the spice.
My review was a few days after spring break week. This being Galveston, I think they recovered pretty quickly. 😊
***Update: 9/10/23 The Bones are back on the menu! They are definitely cut differently than the old menu item but still very good. Glad to see them back.
Do not pass up the BONES. Great as an appetizer or just on their own. Good selections on the menu.
Update 3/3/22...still disappointed that they don't have a new bones supplier (so still no bones on the menu 😕) however my turkey and sausage plate was great. Friendly staff and fast service, as always.
Smaller hole in the wall place but it has good BBQ and we’re from KC. I wouldn’t say it’s better but it’s good. They’ve got really amazing BBQ spicy sauce. The girl that took our order was wearing a cow outfit and it was great! She was super nice and took good care of us.
