Incredible food! Portion a-plenty!!!
The atmosphere was fun light-hearted and welcoming. Truly reminiscent of the Forrest Gump movie set. There were 7 of us at the table and each of us had something different from the menu full of options to choose from. Not a single complaint was to be heard because we were all too busy "happy" chewing our delicious meals. Our server was so friendly, always smiling, and very attentive, despite being short-staffed. We all walked away feeling contentedly full, well cared for, and happier for having the experience. This is a "must do" for first-timers to the Seawall of Galveston, TX, or even frequent flyers.

First time here and I have been procrastinating but I'm so glad this was my first time. Our server, Chara, made the experience even better. She walked up to greet us with a smile and highly enthusiastic. She informed us that everything was made from scratch and it showed. We got the Fried Pickles and Calamari, not sure about the Calamari but the fried Pickles were the best I've ever had. We had a group of 5 and she was very knowledgeable and honest about dishes from the menu, and her ability to keep that smile and happy attitude while getting asked so many questions about everything, showed how good she was. Everyone's food was excellent, though the salmon was a little over salted, and a few tried dessert. The key lime pie was very tart and melting not set as it should be also the crust was soggy. The Strawberry short cake, for one looked nothing like the picture. Yes I understand pictures are not usually of the actual food but if you have pictures of strawberries in your representation of the dish then there should be strawberries in the Strawberry short cake. Unfortunately there was only Strawberry jam. All in all the atmosphere was awesome, the food was great and the staff was excellent. Also they do a trivia of the Forest Gump movie and that was pretty fun as well. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back.
All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. First we wanted to sit outside and then our daughter was complaining about the heat, so we moved inside. Our waitress was fast and efficient. Our food came out faster than expected because the restaurant was almost full, we had expectedlong delay, but nope. Our food and drinks were top notch. We chose drinks that had take home souvenir glasses. The waitress kept drinks coming and refilling waters and sodas. I would highly recommend
Everything about this place was awesome! The service was exceptional, the food and drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was just so much fun. It's a little expensive, but worth it if you have the ability to splurge.
Where do I start. The food was really, really good. I love the signs on the table. When you show “Stop Forest Stop”, any nearby server will visit your table to see what you need- I love it!
Very nostalgic feel just like the movie. We will definitely be back for more, a new family favorite. Make sure you get the shrimp and Mac-n-cheese appetizer.
Jose, Sara, and T were absolutely wonderful. Each of them had amazing customer service skills that made my experience 10x better. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, in Galveston has an upstairs and downstairs so check both out when deciding where to enjoy their delicious food. I had a Salad with a boiled egg and coconut shrimp. Listen, I have been looking for a place to top the last Coconut Shrimp I had and in my first bite I was shocked by how scrumptiously delicious it was. 100/10 What made my experience perfect was the view of the ocean. I loved it so much. I can’t wait to be back again.
Bubba Gump is a fun tourist trap catering to folks who fondly remember the Forrest Gump movie. The service was okay and the food was plentiful but nothing special. The kids liked the light up cups and they really do big birthday celebrations!
The place isn’t bad overall. It’s very loud and the getting the food is pretty slow. However, the food does taste really good, and my whole family liked it. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and I personally rate it a 7.5. It tasted really good, including the fries and sauce, but there were more bread on the sandwich than the chicken itself which I thought was a major con. But overall, it’s not a bad place, just very noisy and getting your food is quite slow.

Eren, thank you so much for your amazing customer service. I have never had a waiter come to my table and asked me and my group of people I need trivia questions. Yes the trivia questions are about Forrest Gump movie, which we should have study up on before coming to the restaurant since Bubba Gump shrimp and Co. is derived from the Forrest Gump movie. Thank you for making sure our food and drinks were delivered correctly and for always making sure our cups stayed full.
This building is two stories high, and the gift shop is on the bottom. All the restaurant itself is at the top and they do have outdoor eating. I did not get pictures and videos of everything but I did as much as I possibly could. I did take notes that they had a lot of codes from the Forrest Gump movie on the walls, on the merchandise, and on the doors.
The food was good. Next time I think I will try the “I’m stuffed” shrimp plate. This time around I had the Shrimper’s Heaven plate and it was good, but it was just way too much fried food and I could only get through the shrimp. I did try one of these crab stuff, shrimp, and it was delicious. They had plenty of options on the kid menu, like more than most restaurants.
The establishment was pretty clean and well decorated. Maybe a little over decorated but what do I know.
I am so happy that me and my family got to come here tonight, and I will be better prepared for the next round of trivia questions. Thank you for having us and serving us.
Good Forrest Gump themed shrimp place. I didn’t know it was Forrest Gump themed before I visited it, but given the name, I should have guessed. Despite its movie roots, it can stand on its own two feet with genuinely good shrimp. We got the shrimp heaven combination platter with beer battered shrimp, coconut shrimp, and tempura shrimp and also a shrimp scampi and both were very good. The water and air conditioning were both cool and refreshing and the staff were helpful when we seemed confused (which we initially were because of all the Forrest Gump themed items). The view of the ocean from the upstairs dining room is a nice plus.
There is a cute little gift shop downstairs where you can buy shrimp and Forrest Gump themed merchandise. I got a rainbow tie dye chapstick as a souvenir for my daughter who loves chapstick.
It was kind of a surreal experience but I have see these all over the coast and I’m glad I finally went inside.
