I have visited this restaurant once a year for the past 4 or 5 years while enjoying a girls weekend in Galveston. Location is ideal for where I stay and I love that there is dedicated golf cart parking right by the front entrance. The large outside deck is a great place to sit at the end the day and watch the sunset over the water. I have never been when its busy as usually just the tables by the windows are occupied. I always think its kind of strange that we are usually the last to leave at 9.30pm.
Service is friendly and food is tasty but a little on the expensive side for what is produced.
Nice place. Great atmosphere, food, service. Crawfish étouffée was delicious. Brownie outstanding. This is my new place when I visit the island.
UPDATE. Waterman's just recently re-opened the fist week of may 2012. I am down in Galveston a lot, and i prefer you to defiantly check this place out. They are now open Mon-Sun from 11am-11pm. There is a sand bar downstairs that is very casual for when you're out on the boat and need a quick meal. the sandbar is what is open from 11am-4pm. & the more fine dining is open from 4pm-11pm on the upstairs level. They are building a brand new marina so you can dock your boat to eat. Its a very kid-friendly restraunt. on Friday & saturday there is a band that plays all night in the sandbar area. Its very alive, and the service is AMAZING. Check it out!!
PS- defiantly try the shrimp kisses. They're a Waterman's favorite.
Neat Place. This is a cool place that's a little off the tourist path.
Everything we had here was great.
My personal favorite are the Shrimp Kisses.
Garlic Calamari was a big hit with the girlfriend.
It is a little expensive, but worth it!
The food is definitely pricey and it felt like we got tucked away upstairs because we had small kids but hey it was like a private dining experience for us. My wife ordered the treasure chest pasta and it was GREAT. Snapper was well done also. Beautiful venue right on the water. The one downside to this restaurant are all of the upcharges (an extra $8 for Mac n cheese? A bit much) and cost for splitting plates.
We went yesterday and sat at the bar, the bartender Jonathan did the best drinks on the island, I highly recommend his margarita! Also, the manager Fatty was always checking on us, thank you so much!! We order the wings and the sweet chilli sauce is awesome!
The server was great and very friendly. The only thing that was lacking was their specialty beer selections which was limited. After four attempts, the manager came to my table to apologize and I truly appreciated that.
The view on the water was gorgeous and I recommend their oysters selection, so fresh and also the Seafood Treasure Chest Pasta was amazing!! Overall, the experience was wonderful and it’s definitely a lovely spot to enjoy good food and music by the water.
This place is seriously amazing. From the atmosphere to the food to the service, this place is truly an amazing gem on the west end. The manager, Jeff, is amazing and so accommodating. Coming from over 15 years in service, I know what goes into running a business and the fact that he can coordinate different events while still making the point of touching tables really goes a long way. Do not miss out on this place.
Excellent service, the food was great, wine was tasty and the bread pudding and vanilla ice cream is off the chain...

Great view and the food was good. We had a party of 10 and there were no complaints about the food. Good portion sizes but a limited menu and very limited sides. I have come to expect bad service with a large group and the service here was on par with my expectation. Service was slow and hard to get the waitresses attention when she forgot an item. Overall the experience was great and we will be back when on this side of the island.

Fantastic! We had the filet, coconut shrimp, gumbo, and key lime pie everything was excellent!!!!
The setting and atmosphere are what really make this restaurant great. The indoor seating is nice but the outdoor patio has a fantastic view of the water and since the restaurant is on the 2nd floor, there is a nice little pier you can walk out on and take pictures or enjoy the sunset. It's a semi-formal restaurant but with a very cozy, casual vibe.
The food is okay overall. The bread service appetizer was good, but my crawfish and sausage gumbo was lukewarm and barely had crawfish. The Caesar salad wasn't anything special. My partner had a burger he said was great. The Waterman's sundae for dessert was delicious. I'll come back here but will definitely order a different entree next time.
Parking was fine since we went around 5 pm for dinner. There is a very small lot in front of the restaurant/marina but you will most likely park in the bigger parking lot across the street.

My husband and I were in Galveston for 4 days and we ate 2 meals here. Beautiful view from our table- right on the water with a long pier right outside. Indoor and outdoor seating. Comfiest chairs ever inside.
The 1st meal was during lunch and they had some great lunch specials. We both ordered off the regular menu- we started with their tuna tar tar- so fresh delish. Then we both got the snapper which was the fresh catch of the day. I got blackened and my husband got Dallas style (crushed pecan crust and lobster meat topping). Both were delicious. Perfectly cooked. We got sides of asparagus and roasted potatoes and again, so delicious. Then for lunch-dessert we got key lime pie and carrot cake. My husband said the key lime pie was the BEST he’d ever had. Couldn’t stop thinking about it for the whole trip lol. Carrot cake was very good too- their whipped cream is to die for.
2nd meal we had was dinner on our last night. I got their burger- very frickin delish on a sweet bun, and my husband got the Seafoods Treasure Chest- a pasta with scallops & shrimp- it was very fresh & good- light and garlicky. Then we got the same desserts as before lol.
My husband and I are sober and they had the best selection of mock tails. I got the pina colada (mmmmm so good, but filling!), and my husband got a mojito. Very refreshing! (Drinks in pic!)
Finally, service was amazing. Never wanted or needed for anything. Super kind. Speedy. The hostesses were so so great too. Big smiles on their face as we entered- which is always nice to see when entering a restaurant!
Pricey, nice place, but worth it.
