I'm still thinking about the wonderful lunch I had yesterday at Aunnys. The wait was well worth it. The food was hot, and everything that I had was so good. I ate everything on the plate and desert. I had sweet potato pie and my husband lemon poundcake. Never had better. The cook is so sweet too, just looks like she loves her job. I had smothered porkchop and fried corn, never had to use the salt shaker, which those that know me know that never happens. You know it was all cooked to perfection. If you want comfort food, this is the place to go.The cornbread muffin was like a desert in itself.
Absolutely the best place in Georgetown! Great food, great sweet potato pie and a great Christian family to serve you! Love this place!
Found this little place, best shrimp and grits ever. Just of rt 17 south in Georgetown south Carolina. I ordered the hamburger steak. it was awesome seasoned with something I have never tasted. Very good wife had the shrimp and grits, cooked to perfection. The corn off the cob it also was some of the best corn I have put in my mouth. Now the corn muffins no words just make that turn into town and try it.
Highly recommend this hidden gem!
My husband and I traveled to Georgetown,SC to visit family. I’ve heard people in the community talk about Aunny’s Country Kitchen and how much the food reminded them of delicious home cooking. I had to try it! I met sweet Aunny and some of her staff. Super nice! I ordered we the hamburger steak, mac & cheese, green beans, white rice with gravy. The corn muffin came with the meal. The food was great! This is a hidden gem, located downtown Georgetown.
The atmosphere can use some updating, but you can see the history of Aunny and the reason why the restaurant has been around this long. The food and customer service really make it easy to overlook everything else.
When or if you're ever in Georgetown, South Carolina, and you're hungry from walking along Front Street, and you want an introductory taste of "Low Country" soul food inspired by the Gullah Geechee culture, give Aunny's a try! You'll enjoy their palette of chicken, beef and seafood dishes, that'll matriculate you over to their "mouth watering" desserts! They're modestly priced and you'll probably purchase a dessert, to munch on later on!
Wanted to say thank you for staying open for us. We were in town for 24 hours. We found this place on Yelp. The reviews were good. The pictures don't give this place enough justice. Anyway, they closed at 7pm. We arrived at 6:30 and dinned in. The food came up fast, hot and GOOD!!!! we wanted lemonade, the server, I don't remember her name. She made it fresh squeeze for my party of 4. And not for nothing. We appreciate the hell out of that. Thank you so much! Next time we are in town, we will be back. ♥️♥️
Oh my! What a find and thank you Google for showing us this as an option. The service was fantastic a d I was so excited for lunch. Aunny's mom was our server and she was a dear. We tried the gumbo, the fried chicken and shrimp/fish platter. Everything was delightful! The chicken was crispy and the chicken juicy. I also had fried corn. Do not knock it till you try it. Sweet crispy breading and yummy corn. The collard greens were good. Ac and cheese was not for me, but it was classic baked Mac and cheese. The baked beans were also good. The gumbo had good flavor, was hot and made me smile. Highly recommend!
They've been there for about 14 years, Really good home style cooking. Get the home made desserts, very good. Had the fried chicken dark meat, carrots and peas, and Mac and cheese. Chicken was great, cooked perfectly. Mac and cheese was a little dry but good.
Nothing fancy - just good made to order food at a reasonable price. Enjoyed the unsweet tea, shrimp and grits with gravy
Eclectic southern kitchen with homemade entrees and desserts. I've never had some of the foods cooked this way. The fried corn was on the cob with batter. And I'm not sure how the Lima beans were done. But everything was tasty. The coconut pecan pie was good, but a little dry, same with corn muffin. Wait for meals was somewhat long considering it is a small place. Prices were reasonable.
Large portions of delicious food served by friendly people with gospel music playing all the time! Mama Jane brought desserts over for us to enjoy! Don't miss a chance to eat here!
The best food in South Carolina! We stayed in Myrtle Beach but drove to Georgetown to visit the Gullah Museum. We tried several restaurants in Myrtle Beach but NOTHING was as good as Aunnys!
