I went to King Tut for my second of two absolutely splendid meals there. The modest atmosphere belies the fact that you are being served some of the most authentic dishes outside of the Indian, Greek, and Middle Eastern areas famous for these dishes. By a chef...not a cook. His training and expertise is immediately apparent...even to the way he dresses and garnishes a dish...lovingly, with spices and olive oil that other places leave out, to the diminishment of the experience and flavour. Little touches that make the difference between a dinner and fast food on the fly. I had baba ganoush, my absolutely favorite light meal or starter. Coming with toasted pita bread and a dusting of paprika and parsley, and drizzled with (excellent) olive oil, it seemed light and nourishing. Not a trace of the tinny or bitter flavours the inexperienced manage to get from eggplant. Savoury, but not salty, fresh, but well combined, a touch of fresh garlic...I threatened to lick my plate, which I was graciously encouraged to do. Instead, I took home an order for later tonight. I will eat it alone...thank you. All mine! Previously, the rich and tender Lamb and rice dish on Special (get the Special every time. Trust me.) was a HUGE plate of chunky, tender braised lamb with seasoned rice that left me sucking the bones. You'll be tempted to share just one, but buy your own. The leftovers are heaven. Paired with a simple side of Greek salad and a dressing neither too oily, nor too vinegary, Greek olives, cucumber, feta cheese, tomatoes and fresh parsley, it is both an aperitif and a palate cleanser. Oh, and everything is freshly made. That day. When it's gone, it's gone. There's no bowl of something old in a back fridge to make do with...which is why everything tastes quite happily like the vegetable or meat that it is, not some ancient stew. O.K. I'm in love. But FINALLY...a truly authentic Mediterranean/Greek/Indian restaurant has come to grace us with its presence. Although it is busy, busy, busy, you will be treated like a special guest. Which the chef and his family clearly believes you are!

I called the day before I made a catering order for 12 people. The owner was extremely helpful in discussing options, making recommendations based on what I was looking for, and best of all, cooking amazing food that made the whole family happy and super full (and I also had requests to pass around the phone number bc the rest of the family was looking forward to making future orders!) I seriously can not recommend this place enough, food was sooo tasty and portions are great. Thanks for a wonderful feast 😄
