Tortugas or Tacos‏

A Tortuga, or ‘turtle’, is a loaf of bread we bake fresh every day. As the loaf of bread comes out of the oven in it hollowed out by hand & grilled. We use only the shell of the bread & for that reason the slang is Tortuga!
Each torta has the following garnishes: Fresh avocado, roma tomatoes, queso fresco farmers cheese, shredded lettuce, poblano peppers, sliced sweet onion & a spread of garlic pinto beans.
An order of tacos is served 4 small soft tacos per order w/ 2 kinds of fresh salsa, a lettuce & spiced cucumber salad & hand cut tostada chips. Each taco is then garnished w/ fresh avocado, lime, cilantro, sweet onion & salsa tayde.
Each choice below can be prepared either way.

Awesome food! My wife brought me here. I was doubtful when we pull up but the food was outstanding. I had chorizo tacos and my wife had the tostadas de tinga de pollo. Can’t wait to go back.

This place is super delicious. I stopped in on a business trip after seeing reviews on Zomato... I proceeded to return the next day for more, as it is some of the tastiest, most authentic Mexican I've had. This is not the typical Mexican restaurant, but a Mexican deli style as the name suggests. The prices are high, but you get what you pay for. Good vegetarian options. And the guacamole is wonderful.
