The traditional German delicatessen is nearly gone. Once the staple of many small western Long Island towns - there were a handful between Glen Head and Sea Cliff alone - few remain. There has been a deli in this location for decades, and while ownership has changed, the menu is just as diverse and flexible as those of 50 years ago. Their Reuben is delicious. The roast beef hero, excellent. Hot soups, good coffee, a nice variety of sides (i.e. coleslaw, potato, egg salads), rolls, and pastries. Their breakfast egg sandwich on Kaiser roll is as good as they get. Classic New York. The service is friendly, efficient, and kind. Give 'em your business - You'll be happy you did.
