Never had a bad experience here. Has been my favorite spot since I was a kid. Baked cod, shrimp basket, cheese curds...can't go wrong!

Wertel's Tap is definitely old school. They do not accept credit cards. The food was well received. The chicken strips were very good. The cheeseburger was also good. The tator tours were spot on! The French fries, in my opinion, were much too thin and add expected were much "harder" than a regular sized french fry. Now the perch fry was the main entree that we ordered. At over $14, it is priced as high as any perch fry I have had in the area. As far as the taste, I will say that that it had only a very light lake perch flavor as if it had freezer burn. The cook on the fish was perfect. Oh, how can I forget the coleslaw? Maybe because I don't like coleslaw. In fairness, I did taste it and I will say that was not bad at all. You do have the best coleslaw I have ever had. I will be back again to try the bluegill and give the perch another chance. Lastly, the lady who served us was fantastic!

Great place. Always welcoming and will remember your name. The staff has been there a long time and is very consistent. That tells you a lot. The food and drinks are great tasting and well priced. The atmosphere is A+
Nostalgic bar/restaurant that reminds me of my parents going out to dinner when I was young and another delicious fish fry that you have to check out!
