I love any food that breaks with tradition, creating something original with the finest ingredients. Having said that, Asada was the best place my wife and I could have stopped. From the friendly service we received by the lady behind the counter, the lady drop of salsa verde, our experience was a wonderful one. We went based on nearly all five star reviews on Google, but the selling point was the website description of Latin American food with something for everyone sounded great enough to visit. In addition they have been influenced by the Mission District Mexican food scene (particularly La Taqueria, which we have both been to and loved).
We were greeted by a unique menu of specials that included traditional type Mexican food with many twists. My wife judges a place by the burrito and she wasn't disappointed. The burrito had great ingredients which need no fillers, just fine individual tastes that combine to make a wonderful marriage in a tortilla. I wanted to try everything, but settled for the Chicken Karaage Taco, Bolitos De Yuca Con Queso, and the Ampanadas. To spare the reader detail, I'll explain at the bottom, but in summary it was all different and wonderful.
As we were looking at the menu several people essentially said, "you're traveling? Wow...you definitely found the best place in Greenville."
After we enjoyed our meal, we were preparing to walk out but the owner and founder, Roberto, asked us how everything was. He was very complimentary for our feedback and was such a humble person to speak with. He has always enjoyed blending cultures in his food. I knew this wasn't just an enjoyment for him but for anyone else as the Japanese style fried chicken on my taco exclaimed loudly.
Portions were perfect and you cannot beat the price. If you're visiting this city, you must stop here and try anything. We are going to try to make it our final meal in Greenville.
Thank you, Asada!
The Chicken Karaange Taco had Japanese style fried chicken with a Latin American style slaw. By themselves each was full of flavor, and they come with tons of each, so that my two corn tortillas couldn't fit it all, which meant I got to enjoy the rest with a fork.
The Bolitas De Yuca were very hot (temp) and the potatoes inside were delicious, but the Peruvian sauce on the side was the best part. It made a perfect spicy dip for the whole thing.
The Ampanadas were Argentinian style dough and were filled with guava and creme cheese. An extremely sweet dish with the slightest spice and perfect texture.
I loved each piece of each food!
I love Asada’s food! It is delicious. The restaurant is all about the food! Fresh, lots of it, and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It is a must go to spot in Greenville!!
I had mine delivered by BiteSquad and the chicken burrito I got was quite tasty! I definitely recommend this place and can't wait to try some of their street tacos.
