I tell everyone about this place. Its a hidden gem on the outskirts of Harrisburg. The food is AMAZING and the owners are beautiful people. There is nothing you can get on the menu you wont love. Choc pecan pie is a fave dessert along with the key lime pie. NY strip is so tender you can cut w a butter knife or fork. Chef Dougie is so talented in the meals he puts together and deserves every award he has won!!
I was headed back to NC from a business trip and googled “Best Restaurants in Harrisburg”, Dodge City popped up in that list so decided to give it a try. Very glad that I stopped in. Asked our waitress for recommendations on an appetizer and she recommended the Wild Boar Rice balls, may I say, ask your server for recommendations, our hit it out of the park. Again we asked for recommendations on our entree’ and I went with her recommendation of the Cold Smoked Steak with stuffed baked potato. I have never had a steak with so much flavor and the potato was equally delicious. If ever passing through Harrisburg again I will definitely be stopping at Dodge City.

This is one restaurant that I have only been to once since I've moved to Harrisburg. So we decided to try this one after reading the reviews. This is a family owned restaurant since 1980 and everything is made from scratch. One of the first things I felt when we received the menu was how expensive this restaurant is. They are known for their steaks and prime rib,which if I could do over my meal...this would have been my choice.
I struggled with giving this a 4 star review because the Chicken Chesapeake I ordered was the most salty piece of dried chicken I have ever tasted.Even the lump crab meat that topped the chicken was too salty and the mornay sauce was too hot for my taste. However, the baked potato was huge and had a great taste.
My partner had the 13 oz strip steak with a demi glaze, asparagus and a loaded baked potato. His steak was cooked perfectly and he said had a good taste. They served hot rolls,which were excellent.
Their beer is brewed from Susquehanna Brewery and there is quite an extensive cocktail list.
The atmosphere is nice and looks quaint with all the wood shelves holding candles in four of the dining rooms. We were seated in the room behind a very uniquely crafted bar.
For dessert we had the peanut butter chocolate pie and the chocolate pecan pie. Great desserts.
Our dinner was just under $100 not including the tip.
But because I took everything into consideration, I gave a 4 star review and will try one of their steaks or prime rib next time.
Picture doesn't do it justice. My mom, dad and I got the prime rib. My sister got rack ribs. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best prime rib we've ever eaten. The ribs were perfect as well. Also got the crab dip. Huge chunks of crab. Super awesome customer service. Very nice establishment. Beautiful atmosphere.
The service and food were both wonderful. My husband and I were in town for a weekend trip and chose this place for dinner. I have never made such a perfect choice for out of town dinner. The appetizer of crab dip was delicious, the entrees were very tasty, they are easy to work with in terms of swaps or substitutes, and when I mentioned my drink tasted watery, it was happily swapped. Will definitely visit again if we are in town again. 10/10
Food is way above average. Although we waited about 15 minutes past our reservation to get seated, that was due to short staffing, not poor service. The service was very good.

I really don’t get why people review a place and haven’t even eaten at the restaurant. Your wasting my time reading something that doesn’t help me decide if Iam going to try the place. We were in the area to go to Hershey and decided to try this place. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Kid friendly with great accommodating staff. Everything is homemade! Homemade bread with cinnamon butter. Homemade chips with cheese sauce and sour cream. My steak was cooker perfectly. I got the 8oz filet mignon and it melted in your mouth. My father in law got the prime rib sandwich with steak fries which were 100% made fresh in house and perfectly fried! Got the strawberry short cake to go and I just ate it before I wrote this review. It was the icing on the cake and I had to write a review. Especially after I read a few negative ones and saw they didn’t even eat at the place. Waited 45 minutes blah blah blah didn’t eat the food. Put a picture or a receipt you bought something or don’t write a review. You really want to stop someone from enjoying a place for no reason. Because some people just look at the stars. Rant over lol.
My boyfriend and I went here for a perfect date night. In pictures, there is an actual Candle at the table making it a romantic atmosphere and our Fried Mozzarella is pictured as well. The staff was extremely nice. Make reservations!! We paid $42 for Fried Mozzarella, a Root Beer, Chicken Parmesen and a Smokehouse Tangler. Well worth it. Best Chicken I have ever tastes and the onions were nothing like Onion Rings or anything I thought it would be. If you're wondering if you should go here- I say do it ! It's well worth it.
Had a delicious meal. I had the coconut chicken salad. It was amazing. My husband had a steak with horseradish mashed potatoes. He said it was delicious!! Definitely going back!! Our waitress was super nice!! Loved it!!
Never had a bad meal . Food is delicious, cooked to perfection, and a nice healthy portion. However, they do need to learn how to make a bourbon old fashion the correct way. Got 1last night and it was all water with a slice of orange and a smashed cherry . Could not taste any bourbon or bitters. Paid $10.00 for a glass of flavored orange cherry water. I have paid $14.00 at other establishments for a real old fashion. Here is a recipe . Please take note and make them the correct way. 1 -
Add three bar spoons of simple syrup, five dashes of bitters and 2.5 oz Bourbon to a large rocks glass.
2 - Add 1 large ice cube.
3 - Stir gently.
4 - Zest an orange peel over the glass then add the peel to the drink as a garnish add a maraschino cherry.
