The guys working behind that counter make this place. Never had a bad experience. Recommend to anyone who visits town.
Real Steaks. Other places....take notice. This is what a real steak tastes like. Real rolls, real steak, not over-seasoned beef seconds that places are so fond of around here. Wonder how they thrive being open 15 hours a week? It's the food!
Philadelphia Steak & Hoagies - Downtown. The best cheesesteaks in the area. Bread was fresh and the meat and toppings were top notch. The service is crazy fast. I usually go in just after the lunch rush and I can be in and out of here in under five minutes. If you are on your lunch hour and are looking for a great cheesesteak in no time flat, this is your place.
Want an actual hoagie? Go to the Jackson house. Want a real steak that will compete with anything in Philly? This then is the place. I will actually drive out of my way, park illegally and gladly take the $15 ticket when I want the best steak in the area. This is it. Hoagies? Not so much.
Great food. Some of the best downtown. I've been going there since I was young and the food quality has never changed. They are on top of their game. You no sooner get your drink filled and a lid on and they're calling your name for your order. Love it!!
Best place to get authentic Philly Cheese Steaks in the mid-state area. I always get Wiz Wit Shrooms and sauce.

The hots are good. Wiz is good. They didn't take tap for credit cards which bugged me and their size of drink is way below par. A solid 4 stars for this place.
Fix cup sizes and please allow me to use touch less credit card purchases.
Better then the one on the pike. Its a clean, well kept restaurant with good food! Never had bad food here and will keep coming back. Been going for years and its just as good.
They import rolls from Philly, i honestly couldnt tell you if it really makes a difference but its a tag line they have. Its good quality cheesesteaks and decent enough fries.
If its a nice day out sit outside. You have to walk past the counter to get to the door out back. Out there is a lush courtyard with a few tables and a huge shade tree. Its a little oasis in the city. You would never know it unless you saw someone go back therevor go with someone who already knew.
Really good cheese steak sandwich. Loved the roll they put it on, the flavor of the steak and the provolone and grilled onions. Crinkle cut fries were right out of the frier and were crispy. The number 1 combo was excellent for the price. They had cherry coke on tap and Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer which was a yummy take on root beer. Loved the brick and wood decor and the old charm of the storefront. Will definitely be back.
Not a huge selection, but they do what they do well. If you’re looking for a good value cheesesteak meal, I don’t think there is a better option in the area.
