Nothing special. Kind of a "whole in the wall" location, but easy to find. Lunch counter style, with a breakfast and lunch menu. Pair of chili dogs, an order of chili cheese fries and a medium fountain drink will run you about $10 + tip.
Not as good as the "Spot" (RIP), but probably the best dog in the local area. Great prices too. Worth the trip.
The exterior is misleading- the food is amazing n service is great.
Jimmy knows what he's doing. His dogs are tops around here. Better than Yacco's in Allentown and better than Abe' s in Wilkes-Barre. Not as good as the gold standard (the real Coney Island in Scranton), but the best you are going to get around here. Never tried anything but the dogs. If that is what you crave, brave the neighborhood and cone here.
Being from a rural area, I am always concerned about safety in the city. The restaurant is in a decent shopping center, with lots of free parking. The chili dogs are good, & everything looked good. Service was really fast, so it is a good place to go for lunch @ work. The customers & staff are diverse & friendly.
Chili Cheese Dog and a Cast of Characters. OK so you think you've had a hot dog before....not till you try Jimmys!
This uptown landmark has the locals, senators, mayors and police flocking to get a dog and you won't know why till you visit!
Breakfast is served all day long and I don't think the guy at the grill ever gets a break. There's always something cookin! Carry out is available.
I recommend the chili cheese dog, cheesesteak hoagie and french fries.
It's not much to look at but the experience and entertainment value of the cast of characters in the place is well worth a visit.
