An excellent place to grab some Himalayan food! It's kind of hidden off the main square but well worth the short trip. We had a party of 10 and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food here is great and the place has a cozy atmosphere. A great place for a taste of something more exotic!
The first thing you must know about this restaurant is how kind and friendly the staff is! I almost always order for pickup but every time I walk in to get my food, they are always warm and welcoming. Service is a huge deal for me, so this makes me happy! The food is also great, though a bit pricey. Tofu Masala is my go-to (extra spicy for me), with buttered nan and brown rice, mmmmm..... the Veggie Pakora and Samosas with chutney are great, too. Dinning in can be romantic after dark: the restaurant is cozy, colorful, and kind of low-lit, total mood lighting!
The chicken saag was mainly big chunks of perfectly done chicken nestled in a tasty saag sauce. It was yummy! I ordered hot and it wasn't too spicy but I eat hot food. Garlic cilantro naan was good, could have used more cilantro but still tasty. Limited outdoor seating is very pleasant.
Incredibly fresh appetizers. We had the fried Okra which was yummy. The lamb tikka was delicious as was the vegan korma. Great atmosphere and sweet and attentive service. Try the mango lassi!
I originally wanted to give this five star, because the Momas and lamb marsala were spectacular. The naan with garlic and cilantro, too.
There's just one problem:
The restaurant is sometimes closed, when all hours posted on paper and online dictate that it should be open. Saturday at lunchtime, call ahead to make sure they're open. This happened to me on two different Saturdays.
Other than that, the restaurant is great. But the last thing I want to do on a Saturday afternoon is go to a closed restaurant.
My favorite spot to eat at in Heladsburg. The quality and consistency is always on point. The chicken tikka masala (spicy) and lentil soup is my go to. You will not be upset!!!
Excellent Chicken Tiki Masala and Garlic Naan bread. This was a great find and great lunch value while tasting the wines around Sonoma Valley.
Great food, don't miss the Vegetable Pakora, it's a real treat. Reasonable prices and great service. Why wouldn't you try it if you like Indian, you'll LOVE Himalayn.
The vegetarian options are excellent. Fresh ingredients, and flavorful preparation of dishes. Dining rooms are unassuming, but comfortable.
Wonderful foods full of exotic flavors. Quiet and peaceful inside. Highly recommended if you love the spices of India and the Far East.
