I love this restaurant so much. I always get the same thing every time: the Carbonara. The fried egg they parade on top of the Carbonara strips the dish of its authenticity as an Italian dish, but it's still AMAZING. The service is always impeccable as well which makes Prego one of my favorite places to go. It may not be cheap, but it's worth ever penny.

This is simply the best restaurant in Houston. We eat here all the time because the food, wine, and service are consistently excellent and superior to other Italian restaurants. The waiters are incredible--they don't even write down your order, and always get it right! The food always arrives piping hot. The chewy sourdough Italian bread is to die for. Desserts are tempting, but we usually don't have room, since the dinner portions are very ample --we often have leftovers for lunch the next day. Sommelier Rafael makes great suggestions from the reasonably priced wine list. Big portions and moderate prices provides excellent value. What more can you ask? I think I will go tonight!
Enjoy a Bit of Italian Cuisine
Enjoy the ambiance and the wonderful service as well as the fantastic dinner options at Pregos Restaurant in Rice Village. Decant a fine bottle of wine and enjoy the evening.
The bread basket was amazing for the variety you get. The Gnocchi was perfect and I would recommend the rose sauce. The Margherita pizza was pretty good but I prefer fresh basil that hasn't been cooked on top. I didn't try dessert but would love to if in the area. Service was ok but my pizza came out after my gnocchi and I wanted them together. The portion for gnocchi was small for the price.
Spaghetti Carbonara. Best carbonara anywhere. I order this everywhere I go because I love it but I've had none better than Prego
One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Hard the duck ravioli with roasted pears and dried cherries in a truffle butter cream sauce. It was orgasmic!!. Superb service oh how I wish I was not from out of town. Congrats on an outstanding establishment
I will return. The food was delicious, the service good, and the prices not unreasonable. With the exception of one little ding (my side of squash was cool to room-temperature, and I'm sure it should have been served hot), at a table of eight diners, everyone loved every course. I will definitely return.
Review. The atmosphere sets the mood for the meal you will have. It is a comfortable place which is important. The facilities and waiters were nice and also helped the feel. Of course the food was great also.
Good Food. Overall, I was very impressed with Prego's food and atmosphere. The mushroom ravioli was very flavorful and had a rich sauce. The menu had quite a variety of foods, with many vegetarian and vegan options to choose from. The restaurant was well furnished, and the service was great. I would definitely eat there again.
Prego. This restaurant was petite, but very charming and warm. The atmosphere and facilities were great. And the service was very good and respectful. I got some kind of pasta, and it was pretty good. I am sort of a picky eater, but I was pleased by the pasta. And the presentation was very appetizing. Overall, I would definitely go back to this restaurant.
Overall, I had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. The service was fast, efficient, and polite, and the environment was clean and well maintained. I ordered the grilled chicken with pasta and it was excellent, especially considering the reasonable
price. Very nice presentation and delicious bread to start the meal with.
Margarita pizza Cheese was .... Margarita pizza
Cheese was tasty and basil was fresh
Good amount presented
Excellent service, nice waiters
Very nice facilities
Enjoyable experience overall
This place was a pleasant surprise for a last-minute choice. Our waiter was both welcoming and well-versed with the menu. While the food was good, it didn't particularly stand out to me. I might not suggest Prego's on my own, but I'd be happy to return if someone else chose it.
Cute little Italian place in Rice Village. Cozy atmosphere, great service, and to date, the BEST red sangria I've ever had. The sweet potato gnocchi were cooked to perfection and the halibut was moist and delicious. A must try!
We went for lunch during restaurants weeks at 1pm on a Monday and there was a lot of space available for sitting. The food we ordered was good, (not necessary amazing) but the staff was great, all of the workers had great attention to detail and were very professional, pictures: Cesar salad, vegetable soup, jalapeño fettuccini, and prego ravioli.
Definitely a delightful experience! Delicious food and wonderful staff! Meal selection was perfect and daily specials are on point!
Foods are fresh and delicious! This restaurant was established in 1983, it’s been 40 years! Will definitely come back to try other dishes.
After reading reviews I had higher expectations for this place. We started off by asking recommendations from our server who said the calamari was their top seller and the crab cakes were not. The crab cakes were awesome and the calamari was average. Mista salad was bland, veal was chewy, and the risotto had no flavor. However the red snapper was delicious! The breading was light yet crunchy. I will be back to try a few more things on the menu before giving up or recommending to others.
Wonderful restaurant! Great staff. Nice wine list. The lasagna was so delicious! Very thin noodle layers and nice red sauce. Also a nice selection desserts. We plan to return the next time we are staying in Houston.
Fast service, the risotto was good, but some flavor was missing. Good butternut squash ravioli, plenty of walnuts.
I arrived solo on a busy Friday evening and they were extraordinarily helpful and seated me immediately at a table for four even though I was a party of one which I appreciated. The server was attentive and explained the specials and even helped me choose something comforting as it had been a trying day. I had a glass of Moscato which was perfectly chilled, the carbonara, and the house bread. It was all delicious and the pasta was hot and creamy to warm me up on a chilly Houston night. I was too stuffed to try dessert but next time I will save room as everything I tried did not disappoint!
Went there for a regular Sunday lunch. They have a light Italian music on the background. the place smells like cheese and wine. Huge wine selection to drink from. Staff were nice too. We ordered their lasagna, meatballs and chicken parmesan; were completely satisfied. Definitely will come back.
