I have been coming here for years. The Pho (Vietnamese Noodle soup) is always consistently good. There are many places around Bellaire Chinatown that I've been to and I keep coming back to Pho Dien. The portions are good and the prices are very reasonable. On the weekends there will be a line and sometimes a wait reason for the 4 stars but it is worth the wait. They sometimes sit people together in the same long table so it takes away from some privacy but does not ruin the overall food experience. Definitely a must try spot! My personal go to Pho restaurant
Pho Dien 🍜 was absolutely delicious. Went for lunch and they are busy! A lot of people come to eat at this location because of how good it is. The meat portion on the bowls is a lot and you have plenty to eat. The bowl sizes can vary depending on what it is that you want to eat. They offer coconut juice which I love. They offer sauces on the tables and napkins. As well as chopsticks. Try this restaurant when in Houston definitely worth the visit
The service was super fast. The food came in 6 minutes! They had peaceful piano music playing. The Thai tea was amazing. The beef in their pho(4) was also very flavourful. The portions are reasonable and you gotta dig to find all the meat. You have to go up to the front to pay and there's lollipops up there ;) The bathroom was clean too.
Ever since their other location in front of Kim Son’s plaza closed down, Pho Dien 2, this place is on my top 3 pho spots in Houston.
The only thing it’s lacking compared to the other location that closed down, is that the beef pho broth’s flavor, isn’t as beefy as the other location.
Other than that, from their sliced rare beef steak (‘tai’) to their high-quality rice noodles (‘banh pho’), perfecto! Chef’s Kisses!! Muah! Magnificenco!!
This is the Pho restaurant to check out when you are in Houston (Bellaire) areas. They ONLY serve authentic Vietnamese pho noodle here. No banh mi, no bun bo que, no other noodle or rice. Just Pho. They have one of the best Pho in Texas. They cook it like you have in Saigon City Vietnam. The broth is rich and clear. So fresh with herbs, Thai basil, and just right amount. They are 3 size. Small, Large and X-large bowl of pho. You have to come by and check it out yourself if you are pho lovers or even first time. Good job to owner and staff to serve the good pho here. 🍜👍
Updated as 10/6/2023 the shop is closed and they have construction/renovation inside. No more pho.
The food is good! For the price you pay, you get an enormous amount of food! Get an XL to share between two.
The broth is good, but a bit bland and it could be thicker in my opinion. I was a bit underwhelmed since I was hyped about Vietnamese pho in Houston and specifically about this spot. Definitely not the best pho, but a little above average.
Note that they only serve pho here.
Tried this pho place in Chinatown and it was amazing! You choose the size bowl you want, then what proteins you’d like. The “rare” steak option isn’t too rare as the broth slowly cooks the meat. You can also choose to have steak, bone, fat, tendon, brisket and other add ons to your dish. All dishes come with basil, bean sprouts, jalapeño, and lime. For the price you pay the portion size is amazing. It does get super busy during peak times.
**UPDATE**
They are open again and as delicious as ever 🍜 😋
9/30/2023 - drove from Galveston in traffic (1.5 hours) just to see they're closed until 11/4/2023. Thanks for letting us know 🤡
Recently remodeled, Pho Dien has some of the best pho in Houston. The rare steak is super tender and flavorful. Likewise the brisket and fatty brisket are amazing.
They offer a variety of sizes, but we usually just go for the small.
Pro tip - ask for the bean sprouts to be steamed.
The best pho in Houston! I always take a large pho tai nam gan gau. Great soup et great meat.
