This is the best deal in town for first run movies. I have never been disappointed by this theater. The service I have received has always been fast and correct. The times I have needed something I simply pressed the button for service and the staff have always been fast to check on me. Some have complained about the staff only coming back to check on you at the beginning and at the end of the movie to give you the food bill, but isn't that how it is supposed to be? I prefer not to be bothered by waitstaff checking on me while watching a movie.There is stale odor throughout the entire building, but I have found this same odor at every bar/restaurant/movie theater that I have visited (yes, that means Alamo Drafthouse). Aside from the odor, the place is nice with clean restrooms. The place is located in a dying shopping center and it can be a little intimidating, but I have never had a problem parking there.
The price of the ticket is the lowest you will find for first run movies. They also offer matinee specials on the weekends. Since I have a family, I mostly attend this place to watch children movies and it is difficult to watch one of these movies without a child interrupting, but I have come to expect that from these sort of screenings.
After reading a lot of the reviews on this place, I was almost sure that I was not going to like this place. In actuality, me and my girlfriend had a very good experience at this place. Walking up to the building, an employee on her break greeted us. Some background info;we went to see Skyfall on a Sunday (7pm) the weekend it was released and the theater was about halfway full. Before the movie started the waitress explained to us noobs how everything works and she was very polite .We were able to get our orders for drinks/food and it was not long before our app. arrived. The waitress checked on us often for drink refills and more food orders then brought our check close to end of the movie. The overall experience was amazing in my opinion. I would try to avoid going on a Friday or Saturday night because that is probably when the bad service happens. We are definitely going back soon!
Wonderful! But I wish the staff was a but more attentive and didn't interrupt so much during the movie. I'm from Wichita, Ks and we have a theater like this one, so my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Drink prices are to high as well as food prices, but tickets prices are reasonable.
I recently visited the Movie Tavern for the first time. I read the reviews before visiting and I must say I was hesitant. But to my surprise it was very clean and the staff was very nice. Yeah, the waiter could have come to check on us a little sooner but all in all it was a great experience. I will be visiting more often with my family.
Movie Tavern here is always a great time to go for most movies. Weekends are great, food is good, and staff is always friendly. I recommend anyone to go here. Only piece of advice: Be mindful of the prices on food. Best and good food for couples: Game-Day Plater. Worth the money too. Shame the place closed down.
I come to this theater when I am on this side of town. I usually go to the Deerbrook one. I find the service here a little less customer friendly than in Humble. However, this theater has their food and drinks come out a lot quicker than the one in Humble. Overall, an enjoyable experience.
Love this place watch a movie like your at home while being served!! Food is an 8 Sevice is great but sometimes slow when they are busy!! Chairs do get broken down but replaced with new often. Can go here without a bunch of stuck up people being around like star cinema! Nice mellow experience!!
We never had a problem with this place until this last time. We like to arrive about a half hour early to order our food and get our drinks. But this last time they made us stand waiting in the lobby for 40 minutes. Other than that everything else was fine. The food was good as always and the service was good as well.
This location has the MOST wonderful staff. Must also have a pretty great manager who trains the staff so wonderfully. Their attentiveness and kindness is noticeable. Can't comment on food quality or speed of delivery but the energy vibration is always positive and upbeat and worth supporting.

I had my Daughter, her husband, and my grandson here from Japan on leave from U.S.M.C. and wanted to show them where my wife and I usually go on movie night.
They don't have anything like this in Japan.
We usually have had a good time there there but the service and management has continually progressively gotten poorer, well this night it hit rock bottom.
We had to go out front to ask to be served and had to get our own drinks.
When I gave the server my tankerd she brought me one back that had a visible chip in the rim and I cut my lip on it.
the food was very late (Like almost the end of the movie) and was cold and greasy.
the children would not eat it I forced mine down knowing it was gonna be costly.
The server never asked if we needed napkins, or anything else like " is everything okay here?" But sure as shootin' the bill came right at the end of the movie, and like an Idiot I gave her a great tip to impress my family saying it's not her fault she works at a dump.
I really hope someone takes this to heart at movie tavern because it used to be a great place to spend an evening.
