We were looking for a special cake or other sweet offering to celebrate my brother’s birthday. My wife researched local options and found Ms. Myrtle’s was both highly rated and close to our home. After discussing various ideas with Gregory, we settled on golf ball cake pops! They turned out to be a huge hit with my brother and all the other siblings and spouses. We chose four different cake flavors and added custom lettering on the icing. It was all reasonably priced and professionally done, and the finished product was fresh, rich and delicious. It was truly an easygoing and pleasurable experience working with Gregory on the planning!

I ordered a two-layer cake by phone and received exactly what I ordered. The cake was delicious and got lots of compliments! Both the person who took my phone order and the ones at the bakery at pick up were friendly and professional. We will definitely be back!
Fantastic local business, Ms. Myrtle's Bakery Shoppe made our wedding cake and we could not be more pleased! Other bakeries gave us outrageous quotes for bland cake. Ms. Myrtle's Bakery Shoppe was flavorful, delicious and at a great price! I would definitely recommend ordering from Ms. Myrtle's Bakery Shoppe you won't be disappointed!
Their coconut cake with the glaze is incredible. Subtle and sweet. Ive gone back a few times in Houston and always happy to support a Black owned business. I went before the rebrand but I'm sure it doesn't matter.
This vegan, chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting was one of the most delicious desserts I’ve ever eaten. The cake was moist and the frosting was very smooth. I do not live in TX but I will dream about this cake and visit when I come back.
The Pecan pie was delicious! The German Chocolate was a bit to sweet but still really good. My first time here and it didn’t disappoint so far.
Came to Ms. Myrtles Bakery for my baby shower cake. The cake was made exactly like the photo I provided. They really did an amazing job. The cake was very moist and favorable!!!!!
The only thing I disliked about my service was the ordering process. You can’t go inside of the store front to order your cake, it has to be done online only. It was kind of confusing because I didn’t really understand some of the cake measurements etc. I’m more of a visual person.
Other than that everything was amazing and done in a timely manner. I will now be ordering all of my cakes with Ms. Myrtles from now on.
Back again for my 30th Birthday Cake! If your celebration cakes not from Ms. Myrtles. YOU TRIPPING!!!! The cakes are so moist and delicious! OMG!!!!
Amazing! Ordered through Doordash! My order came wrapped up tightly ready for my to enjoy with forks and napkins! Everything looked and was so good! The sweet potato pie was delicious! The divine cake, sock it to me and strawberry cake were all moist and yummy! Dry where? This bakery cakes tastes like something your mama or grandmother would bake. I enjoyed them all!
4 of us went. We had the pound cake, italian cream cake, german chocolate cake, and the turtle cheesecake. Needless to say, we ALL enjoyed our purchase. Planning on going back Thursday for their specials.
I’ve always loved this place when I lived in Houston & Ms. Myrtle always took great care of me b/c she reminded me so much of my Grandmother. I was saddened to hear of her passing on my recent visit.
This place is always spot on with its baked goods & reminds me of how my Big Momma/Grandmother used to bake in her kitchen. There are always so many delicious treats to choose from. The tea cakes are good, the carrot cake is good…honestly EVERYTHING is good!!!! It’s so hard to choose. And the servings are so big that you can eat off of it more than once. You will not be disappointed…the Legacy of Ms. Myrtle lives on through her daughter. Try them out
