I went with a friend to the HSV location for lunch on 8/12/17. I was greeted by the cashier and when we told them we had never been there before, both the cashier and the manager told us all about their dishes and the flavors they make in store from scratch, like their marinara and their Greek salad dressing. I ordered the Baked Ziti special with a Greek salad, and my friend ordered the vegetable lasagna with a Greek salad. We also had one of their appetizers; mozza bread. I'll rate each as follows below:
Mozza bread: 8/10. The Mozza bread was a cheese(s) bread with a nice medley of spices and herbs. There bread was less doughy and more crispy, but not overly so, quite nice! It came with house-made marinara, which was delicious and not overly strong compared to marinara from other restaurants. If you order these, eat them fast as they soften up quickly due to the copious amounts of cheese on them!
Greek Salad: 9.5/10. The Greek salad here was honestly on of the best Greek salads I've had in this area, And yes, I've eaten at both 5A's and Big Papa Gyros. The salad is very simple with the usual Ingredients, but the house-made Greek Dressing is what brings it all together. Most Greek dressing I've had has a strong vinegar base that overpowers the herbs that is in it. Not so for Tellini's.
Baked Ziti: 9.5/10, The baked ziti was honestly way too much to eat for me, and I eat quite a bit. It was a mountain of cheeses, delicious, marinated chicken slices, perfectly cooked ziti pasta, and a wonderfully mild yet flavorful meat sauce. From start to finish, Every bite was delicious and I never ran out of past, chicken, cheese, or sauce. The bread sticks supplied for this main entree were also very well seasoned, not overpoweringly garlicky.
Vegetable Lasagna: 15/10. According to my friend, that was how lasagna was made to be enjoyed. He exclaimed that it tasted perfectly creamy, with plenty of ricotta cheese and wonderfully seasoned and cooked peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes. He ate his entire plate while telling me it was some of the best lasagna he has ever had.
Food Service: 10/10, The employees were all very nice and helped both of us decided what we wanted to order. The starter and salad were at our table in close to 4-5 minutes, with the entrees arriving shortly after. Service was spectacular!
I would recommend this restaurant to any and everyone who wants a taste of good Italian food.
I've had a lot of Italian food in my lifetime, and this is hands down the best Italian I've ever had. The lasagna was exceptional, and the bread was delicious. The service can't be beat. Everyone was super friendly. We're thinking of eating here again tomorrow night since we don't have this restaurant back home.
We had a wonderful time at your University location! We enjoyed it so much, we went two days in a row! Congratulations for being the best italian place in town!
