Shortcake Bakery

I have been dying to go here but the hours are so wild I would always just miss it . If the hours weren’t silly enough the selections are laughable. The pound cake is only sold by the half and the whole- so the $4.50 per slice all over their menu is not what you will be purchasing. The selections are sparse. I went on Friday at 4:30- which is 1.5 hours after they opened. There was barely anything there. My siblings sent me with a dream list based on the website but again that’s not what’s happening inside . Be ready to make so compromises. I got the shortbread cookies and they were good. The pound cake is also very good. I also had the beef patty which was excellent. Between the hours, selections, and randomness of it I am not sure I will be able to come back . The lady said that you can pre-order via email but that’s something I would do for a large order. I wouldn’t do that for morning pastries from a spot I have never tried before .The location is easy to find and the parking is easy. There is outdoor seating . I like to include kids in my reviews since I am a professional aunt and again depending on the availability I think kids would be happy here. There were so cupcakes that didn’t speak to me persay but I think my nephew would have enjoyed. He did like the pound cake- I got the vanilla one. If I didn’t have to buy a whole half I would have tried the lemon which didn’t have the drizzle ( I love the No drizzle) but I stuck with vanilla .I am sure if you needed a special order :/ occasion cake that they would do a great job. The cookie, cake and patty we had tasted home -made in the best possible way. There was nothing artificial about the flavors and to make such classic stand out isn’t easy. They weren’t overly sweet and tasted great. Customer service was fine , I was concerned based on reviews.. Although I mentioned the hours I don’t think is fair to to give poor reviews for things like hours or parking which have nothing to do with the actual place. If the selections/ availability were more in tune to their website then I wouldn’t have felt such disappointment and this would be a 5+.review.

What motivates me? AWESOME SWEETS! Thank goodness I live close to Shortcake Bakery! It is my motivation when I need a little :) I ride my bicycle on the local trails and my reward for riding 25 miles or more is something yummy. Shortcake is my last stop after a long ride as it never fails to make me want to earn some cookies tomorrow. If you haven't stopped by there, you really should. The staff is warm and welcoming and it is just so awesome. I just can't say enough great things about this bakery!

Just finished excellent brunch. Convenient and always excellent.
