Who says you can't get authentic Mexican food on the East Coast?. This place is EXCELLENT! I had my doubts when I found it in a mall, but when we walked up and looked at the menu, and then the lady stepped up to take our order, I had a hunch we were in for a treat, and I was right. My daughter and I both had the quesadillas, and they were awesome. The 3 sauces they brought out with it were all super yummy, and the pickled veggies were just the right amount of spicy. We will definitely eat here again when we are in the DC area.
Not the quickest place, but truthfully it is one of the most authentic places my family and I went to on our family vacation. She's a hole in the wall joint. Not the prettiest place, but she is truly worth a visit for a true authentic experience.
The sopes where made to order. I had the shredded beef which tasted fresh and had a good mixture of flavors to them.
The chicken enchiladas along with the chicken flautas were not the best. I was told by my daughters the chicken tates old. We come from a family who owns a restaurant and have an advance palet.
The popusas were amazing! Ordered two of the bean and cheese which we devoured like the game hungry hungry hippos.
Serivce was great and friendly, not too expensive.
I would recommend.
Visited Taco Rico while visiting at the Campus convention center there. Very authentic atmosphere. There were 3 of us. 2 of us brought food home so the serving size was good for the money. $$. Food was GREAT!!!
Quiet little hole-in-the-wall spot in Hyattsville, serving up authentic Mexican tacos. I got one all pastor and one cecina, and both meats were nicely grilled. I also got a sope with carnitas that I’d probably skip next time in favor of an extra taco or two (the taste was overwhelmingly refried beans). Horchata was good, too.
Pro tip: It’s only 25¢ more per taco to get a handmade tortilla.
By far the most authentic Mexican Food in the area. Food is always delicious and the service is great.
Delicious food. Arrived when they opened so took 30 minutes for our food, but we'll worth it. Everything was delicious!
