In Dallas for a game and didn't know much about the area, we just wanted to get some breakfast from a spot that wasn't a 'chain'. I got the Country Omelette with hashbrowns and biscuit and gravy. This is a lot of food, the omelette was extremely good, they were not skimpy with the protein either. I loved it. Definitely give this place a go. Very good.

Had gone to the pizza place next door and they hollered "Pick up and delivery only!!", at us. Sooo....we went next door to Southern Recipe. From the outside and by the decor inside, we assumed it was a down-home style restaurant. They did serve that type of food, however most of the menu was TexMex and they brought out chips and salsa before we ordered. The salsa was served warm, was obviously home made, and extremely tasty! I opted for breakfast tacos even though it was dinner time. They were the BEST breakfast tacos I had ever had. I highly recommend them. Eggs, bacon, potatoes, cheese, onions on home made tortillas. Yum! .. My wife had the cheese enchiladas and commented they were among the best she had ever had. Next time in the area, we will stop in again.

Good food: meat loaf with red sauce is good, pot roast is better, veggies are great. Just skip the rolls, each weighs about a pound. Good cheap price.
