All the food was AMAZING! I loved my food.(And my mom’s and dad’s and sister’s.) It was the best food ever!!!! The catfish dinner & po boy were fantastic!
Good food & great service! I love the chicken & waffles for breakfast. Many restaurants don't offer good service these days but this one definitely does!
Pretty good. Sugar's has your typical Jackson lunch items - fried catfish, burgers, red beans on Monday, etc. The sides include the usual suspects like fried okra, greens, etc. The prices are low. They serve beer and red bull for the law students across the street. A solid lunch spot if you find yourself in the area, but probably not worth a trip across town.
Love the wings as much as the philly sandwich, great taste and cheap, only problem was The very anger lady behind The counter
Southern Cookin' at Its Best!. Sugars is fast becoming a downtown staple for lunch. I've eaten here with my coworkers about 3 times and have picked up lunch numerous times. Don't let the location fool you, it's probably one of the best lunches in Jackson.
At Sugar's you're always greeted as you walk in and (who I think is) the owner takes your order before you reach the cash register. Blue plate choices (one meat, two sides) vary daily, but Sugar's also has a menu to choose from. I have to make a confession, I'm addicted to the broccoli cheese casserole here... it's excellent. I usually have the club sandwich and a vegetable, but my friends have had the hamburger and vegetable plate... all said it was delicious.
Whether you're dropping in for a quick lunch or take it to go, I'd highly recommend Sugar's place as a nice change of pace in the downtown area.

The food was amazing! The chicken was well seasoned and crispy and the fried okra was the same! The wait was a little long but well worth it IMO. Highly suggest this to others!
The food is good and home cooked. A little limited on the menu items but they do and few things and they do them REALLY good. 10/10 recommend giving it a shot

Take out only (some outdoor seating). Came for the waffles (which were good) but I believe chicken tender were better.
I have nothing but greatness to say about this place. I pick this place to eat when I came down to visit some family....I’m not from Jackson btw.... and I got the sample patter.... and OMGGGG it was soooo soooo soooo GOOD, super fresh, the portion size was amazing. You can tell they don’t cook the fish and chicken in the same oil.... alllll of it was so good. If you are in JACKSON MISSISSIPPI, this is a must go tooooo.... I will make sure everytime I’m in town I’m going here
Put in my order 10 minutes out for some chicken and waffles. When I got there my order was hot and ready! Chicken was nice and crispy, fried perfectly, not one dry wing. Batter was golden brown, it was almost too pretty to eat. Chicken didn't have way too much seasoning, which paired really well with the waffle. The syrup wasn't overly sweet, the balance in flavors were great, not one thing was fighting for the spotlight, they all wanted to be in the group play together haha. I like my waffles a little bit more crispy on the outside, I'll request that next time. Now, that breakfast biscuit took my breath away, she's a sexy little thing...
Good, fast service. Clean place with lots of seatings indoor and outdoor patio. We weren't sure if we had to pay for meter parking. That buster meter ate my quarter so quick!...at least you know, you don't have to donate your money to that buster stealing meter.
Had the pleasure of eating lunch from here. When I say the food is absolutely incredible. The flavors and taste was fresh and amazing. The kool -aid is in a star class all by itself. The owner was so nice☺️ I give this place more than 5+ stars!!!
