Wow! Great job on the Easter brunch. Food was spectacular and there was a ton of it. Raw bar with oysters, crab, shrimp. Charcuterie. Breakfast items including a couple type of benedicts. Carved lamb and porchetta/suckling pig. Brownie bar. $12 unlimited mimosas!! And service was friendly and efficient. Definitely try this place out!

I was extremely impressed with not only the food but the customer service was exceptional. It was my birthday and my waiter Michael made sure I felt great. I will absolutely eat there again.

Well, this restaurant is attached to the Hotel Phillips, and we only had the breakfast brunch each morning. So I can't really rate the food. I mean, I feel it is unfair to rate an Italian restaurant only against a breakfast brunch that just had the standard pancakes, eggs, and breakfast meat. As a first-time visitor to Kansas City, everything else that we at was BBQ! LOL! What I can rate is their bar and staff. The bar was pretty well stocked, and the staff was friendly. I really liked the arrangement and how the liquor wall was designed. It was really good architecture throughout, and it was a really good job of maintaining most of the original 1920s design! I would definitely stay at the Hotel Phillips in the future and next time eat at the restaurant to give it a legite review.

This place is fantastic. Very intimate and we'll decorated. I didn't feel like it was uncomfortably fancy. The drinks are expertly mixed, and the authentic Italian is not what you would expect. Our food was cooked perfectly, plated well, and delicious. The flavors paired in each dish compliment each other and enhance your meal. The wait staff was a perfect balance of professional and friendly. It was refreshing to have a meal with unique ingredients that I couldn't just whip up at home. The portion size was perfect, and dessert was amazing! This isn't a place I'd take my kids, but it was perfect for a night away.

Enjoyed a nice quiet dinner before seeing Hamilton. A spur of the moment choice after walking near by the Music Hall. The restaurant was busy but they could make accommodations and we had a quiet booth in the back. The service was attentive and the food was very good. FYI... they will only give you bread with your dinner if you ask for it but are happy to accommodate.

House made pastas with a seasonal menu and farm to table ingredients. Yum. The cheese board appetizer is generous and reasonably priced. Actually the entire menu is pretty reasonable. The atmosphere is quiet and cool and the food hits the spot. The complimentary focaccia bread is like a warm soft pillow, so good!

First time here, we tried it for Easter Brunch. Antipasto station, raw bar with oysters, shrimp, etc, hot food including benedicts, porchetta, lamb, and a brownie bar for dessert. Everything was really good and appreciated the friendly service from Nick. They were especially good with our 4-year old which is much appreciated. We will definitely be back to try a regular meal.

Check out our local food blog on FaceBook via @trillianeat Google does not allow 1/2 star ratings 3.5 out of 5 stars Atmosphere: - Easily date-worthy as the ceilings are high and tables separated with large panels of glass, keeping the sound down and the light warm yet dim and moody. - The building faces mainly large high rises so the view is not spectacular. - A downfall that we felt noteworthy was that the passing of foot traffic seemed to be interested enough to stop and look in the glass. It made us feel at times like we were on display. - The restaurant was very clean and elegant with a simple decor that made it feel more inviting as if you were in a nicer establishment. - The waitress was amazing. She made perfect suggestions and took the time to speak to us about the food that we had not experienced before. Food: - The dishes were all large enough to share, yet small enough if you were hungry to easily feed one. - The noodles were cooked to absolute perfection. We enjoy a firm or al dente noodle. As there is a thin window of time before a noodle is a mush and al dente our hats are off to the chefs. - Our salad was extremely fresh almost off the plant fresh. The arugula blend with goat cheese and mandarin oranges blended together to create one of the best salads that we have ever had. Did you know that fennel was something you could eat? We had no earthly idea what we were even eating at the time and had to ask the waitress for help. - Our dessert was not the most amazing dish we had experienced before, but I feel like there is a limited amount of Italian desserts to chose from. Maybe we need to research some epic Italian dessert locations. Overall, we believe that Kansas City has a limited diversity in the Italian restaurant venue. Tavernonna is a great addition to the Kansas City Downtown area and we will be exploring more with the dishes in the future.

Stopped in here for an authentic Italian bite and was not dissapointed. Service was great but the food was outstanding. The wait staff were knowledgable about the food and drinks. Our cocktails were so flavorful and light which was perfect in the summer heat. Prices were reasonable and I cannot wait to return!

New Chef, new menu at Tavernonna. If you are looking for the amazing chicharrones with the yummy seasoning sprinkled on top, it’s no longer part of the née menu. I was very sadden, and hungry. Larry at the bar, took a break from tending his cocktail base original recipes to go over the new menu and pointed me in the right direction. I enjoyed everything I ate and throughly enjoyed hearing about Larry’s cocktail creations. I look forward to my next visit.
