I am visiting from San Diego and my brother recommend this restaurant. The Cedar River Platter is a perfect mix to sample everything. It was all good and smoked to perfection. If you are looking for good smoked BBQ I recommend you give them a try.
And the staff, all of them are excellent!!! They went above, beyond and exceeding my expectations.
We were greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in - time for some BBQ!
Me and my husband love that they have Texas Style food and drinks. For example, his eyes lit up when he spotted the Shiner Bock at the register. I learned this is a beloved Texas brew.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our beef brisket, pork, corn bread, beans, macaroni and coleslaw. Everything was amazing. The savory BBQ sauce comes in a cup on the side and we both got the mild sauce. They have spicier options for those with more fiery cravings!
My husband was also super happy he could have a Ranch Water again as well. Having that was the cherry on top. We felt comfortable and cared for at Cedar River Smokehouse. All the staff we talked to were happy to help. One of the owners, Anand, went above and beyond to make our experience unique, memorable and wonderful.
I highly recommend Cedar River Smokehouse. You'll find delicious food, superior service, great music and caring staff. They were voted Renton's "Best BBQ" for 2021 and could easily get it for 2022 as well!
My wife and myself went there for the first time. Super friendly and kind employees, tasty food with good portion. We will be back!
WELL WORTH A REDO
It had been awhile since we last visited Cedar River Smokehouse. For the past year we were feeling like the quality of food just kept going down until finally early last fall, after an exceptionally dried out over cooked meal, we just stopped going.
I'm happy we gave it another try.
We sat down tonight to some of the best barbecue in the Seattle area.
Everything was amazing, from the most flavorful smoked meats, to the generous sides to the friendly service.
As we ate our meal we both commented on how it felt as if we were dining in a completely new restaurant as the quality of food was exceptional and nothing like the one we had abandoned in the fall.
As it turned out, we weren't far from wrong.
Upon leaving we found out Cedar River Smokehouse was recently taken over in January by a pair of brothers.
These boys are doing something very right in this little Renton restaurant and I must encourage those who have never been - go. And, those who haven't been in awhile - go back as it is well worth a redo.
We recently went in and promised a review. Food was a four star rating, but hospitality deserved a five. The food had a good twist, with a delicious smokey flavor but wasn’t 100% Texas style. It might just be me, but its a no for the olives in the potato salad.
Also for the pricing and it to be called Texas style and being from the south the portion size has to meet up with the price. Not enough ribs for its price, but the flavor is definitely there. Mac and cheese was a hit. The peach cobbler was good, just not a cobbler or pie type texture. More of a cake, overall 4 outta 5 for the both of us.
Great food. Good staff.
Brother had brisket and link sandwich. I had the pulled pork. The meat was flavorful and moist with mild smoke flavor. The medium sauce had a bit of bite mixed in with the sweet tomato flavor.
Brother enjoyed the baked beans and I thought the potato salad excellent. House made blackberry cobbler went home with Brother for breakfast the next day. (Caught him licking the container.)
We've added Cedar River Smokehouse to our list of places to visit when in Greater Seattle.
