Kleines Schnitzel. Petite Schnitzel with Spatzle, on the side I ordered some red cabbage and applesauce (to eat with my spatzle). Henry Wahner's German food is pretty good and it is authentic, however, it's very specific "Schaebisch" (a region around Stuttgart) and it is obvious that it's a few generations old. So, I would call it old-fashion Schwaebisch food. I think that is where some of the complaints are coming from too, "Wiener Schnitzel" for example is Veal, it is not German but Austrian. And it also is served with Lemon, not an Egg. Schnitzel with an Egg is Schnitzel Holstein, and is from the Northern Region of Germany.... German Dumplings would be Bavarian, in "Schwabia" they serve Spaetzle instead.
As for an empty parking lot, when does that happen? We live in Kent and any time we have ever gone there the place is full.
Sat Nite Dinner. 2 large T-bones, a German dish and a Prime Rib that was about 2" thick and larger than the plate. The steaks dinners were around $33 and the German dinner was high teens. My T-bone was a little over done (asked for med-rare and got closer to med well) but potatoes, salads, apple sauce and soup were all good. The Prime rib needed a knife to cut through the ring, but other than that, no complaints. 70's decor, but we were there for the steaks, not for ambiance. Will be back the next time I'm in town.
HUGE portions. Well seasoned. A great value in a great old restaurant

Pretty Close to German. First of all, I am German and have been living here in the States for only several years. I know German food. Therefore, the first time I went to Henry Wahners I did not put my hopes up to get anything close to good German food. However, I was quite surprised! The schnitzel is pretty much the same type of schnitzel you can get in any decent Bavarian restaurant (and I come from Bavaria!). The goulash with spaetzle is also excellent and one of my favorite meals there. Long story short, it's pretty darn close to the food you get dished up in Germany and I have always left this place full and happy (large portions too). Unfortunately, they do not have German style dumplings that are a 100% typical German side dish.
Goulassch and Spatzles was best. Portions were enormous. I tried the combination platter.
The size of the steaks and prime rib that they serve are the biggest I've ever had and cooked exactly how you want it.The prices are really reasonable considering the portions that you get.I eat there quite often and take home leftovers that last a couple days.
Amazing food well worth the money!! The service was also amazing! I will definitely go back!!
My husband suggested this restaurant to my son & I. This was my 1st time here. Our waitress was excellent! She's definitely a people person. She spaced herself quite well checking on us. I ordered the grilled chicken dinner. Cooked to perfection. My husband & son ordered the prime rib dinner. Goodness! I have never seen prime rib that big before! Seriously! They are very large!. I have no doubt we shall be returning again sometime. The social distancing was also regarded of course. It was just a pleasant night out on the town.

Food was good and authentic to German recipes. Server, Linda, was very attentive and made our dining experience enjoyable. I hope that business will continue to improve and they will be able to extend their operating hours as it is hard for us to dine at the establishment without having a day off. Reminder, CASH ONLY.
