I tasted Gondolier for the first time I think about 2009 something like that and I had to write a letter to them because their food is magnificent there's cheesesteak subs or pizza everything they became a number one pizza.. ! no the pizza is always good but I'm June 30 I picked up the pizza right before they closed oh my heavens! Oh my heavens this was the bomb this was the best I've tasted yet it's always good this one had it extra sauce on it or something more cheese it was limp and juicy , oh my heavens my mouth is watering just talking about it.. I don't know what happen I hope I get it like that again you don't give me wrong the pizza still good but this was five times better.. but if you haven't been there to the one on Cedar Bluff or anywhere but I go to Cedar Bluff you need to go any dish did you order anything is tasty and it's not expensive and you get a good amount!! Trust ....
My wife and I visit Knoxville every few months to visit family there. It is a standing tradition that we eat at the Gondolier at least once while we're there. We have never gotten food that was less than wonderful! The only thing better than the food was the service from Darrel. I always give my servers good natured "hassle" and Darrel just gives it back to me. I love it! Never leave without getting dessert. Everything in their dessert case is awesome. If you're too full to have dessert after your meal get it to go. My only complaint about the place would be the entry/exit. It is a long hallway with barely enough room for two people to pass each other. Otherwise the Gondolier is al di là di eccellente!
Amazing place! Very reasonable and huge portions. We had 2 portions of the 'Tour of Italy' and could have split one! The waitress was very friendly and responsive. We will for sure be back. We didn't try the desserts as we were taking half of our food home anyway, but the cakes in the display look to die for.
Very good local place. Nothing is over the top, consider this an Italian local diner with some Greek specialties.
The food is good, fresh and hot. The staff is very friendly. Their dessert portions are absolutely monstrous and very tasty.
I'd recommend the Chicken Souvlaki dinner as it's incredible.

Food is good no matter what you order, and the staff is courteous and polite, I like the gyro wish I had a picture to show you but it's all gone 😋 , But here's a picture of the of their Easy Greek Pizza that to would be gone too if I hadn't came up for air to snap this pic 😋

My family has eaten at the Cedar Bluff location innumerable times over the years, with lengthy hiatuses at times for various reasons, including living elsewhere and inconsistency in food preparation, quality, and service. My comment here has to do with our most recent visit (tonight, December 22nd, 2021). The food was really good tonight overall and the atmosphere unhurried and comfortable (especially once we moved away from the customers who smelled strongly of cigarette smoke). Yet, my focus for this review is the service we received. That's the primary reason for the 5-star review. Michele, (or Michelle?) from Venezuela, was our waitress, and she was just lovely. She was attentive, genuinely willing to serve, and sweet and pleasant in demeanor, clearly eager to wait on us and please us. She didn't let up, but kept right on serving until the end. I hope her manager sees this review and commends her in some way for her service. All of the people that work there are very friendly. Some of the people that work there have been there for years. We have a lot of memories at that restaurant, including precious memories of our son who just turned 12 who was just barely able to stand as a baby at the table and eat one of the cakes with his hands. Anyway, it was really good tonight, and we want to publicly commend Michele and thank her for her exceptional service. Thank you, Michele, and thanks to the rest of the restaurant staff, including the very nice lady that seated us and we remember from years back who told us to be careful due to the potential for ice on the roads, for making such a good experience for us!
Great little gem! Service is great (even when short of help). They have a wonderful menu, many selections - Italian, Greek, American. Everything we've tried we have loved! They're desserts are fantastic!
