First time at restaurant after glowing reviews from family and friends. We were definitely not disappointed! I would say the best omelette I have ever had. Service was top notch too. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Swamis is a great little cafe in the La Mesa Village. I've never had lunch here, but I can say that every breakfast item I've had off the menu has been delicious. They have a pretty large menu and always have tons of specials posted. They also have a good amount of vegan and vegetarian options. Something to keep in mind: after ordering at their counter, you seat yourself and all of their tables are on the smaller side. When the restaurant is really busy it can be difficult to find seating if your party is larger than four people. They also have a small patio that is dog friendly, but all of the tables outside are made for two people.
Simply wonderful! Only way I can describe this restaurant, they are friendly and they put the customer first. The prices are fair and the food is superb. Terra down the road a bit should stop by for tips from these guys, they are doing it right in la Mesa!

Swami's food is always fresh and plentiful.
Presentation is excellent.
The ingredients are fresh and flavorful.
The employees are always courteous.
The bacon is thick and crisp (cooked just the way I like it); the multigrain waffell is so good!
After you eat at Swami's, you won't want to eat breakfast anywhere else.
Downside - it is small and can get noisy.
Upside - breakfast is the best I have ever had, and the price is unbelievable ($7.95 and $8.95 for most breakfast selections)
Excellent Service, Excellent FOOD. If you have not been to Swamis for dinner it is a must do. On a warm summer evening there is nothing better than a meal that tastes good and is good for you. The food at Swamis, breakfast, lunch or dinner will never be a let down. Fresh ingredients, lot's of flavor, large potions. Take a friend and enjoy!
The food was absolutely amazing and surprisingly inexpensive. I fed my family of 4 with $34 and there were plenty of leftovers to take home.
Great for everyone. Vegan, meat eater, young or old, everyone can find something to tempt their palate at Swami's, This is an order at the counter restaurant. The food is healthy but so well flavored that you are not missing anything. The fish tacos are grilled, juicy and flavorful. The black beans and rice are basic but the chunky fresh salsa that is served with the meal kicks it up a notch. My daughter had the curried veggies which were well done..the slice of wheat bread with garlic butter was an odd accompaniment but quite delicious. We shared a tropical fruit smoothie that was just fresh, light and satisfying to the sweet tooth without being overly sweet. Great restaurant for the whole family....I don't think anything was over $10
GREAT healthy food! Everything is so fresh and they even have wheatgrass shots and smoothies! I go at least once a week, they have breakfast all day and they take a healthy creative twist to most menu items.
