Today (11-3-23) we stayed as a Harvest Host member and we were the only couple here as an overnight guest. We arrived around 2:30 pm and went to check in. I was greeted by 3 beautiful ladies. I asked where I should park our rig and after setting up we were invited to come in around 4 pm to sample there rums that they make on-site. We had several samples and I lost count but they all were very different from what you would find in a rum purchased in a liquor store. Hand crafted and a very interesting history of how the place came to be! After the samples we ordered a couple of cocktails and I will say they were fantastic! The experience was the best and we thank you very much for the vip treatment! We did make a purchase walking out with 2 bottles and a t shirt and also a few free stickers! Thanks for a great ending to a long drive and for being a Harvest Host Member! Steve & Lori C.
The best place to taste rum. Very friendly knowledgeable host. Highly recommended. We used Harvest Hosts and camped in the back parking lot. Beautiful views of a pond and deer. Made us feel welcome and comfortable.
Great friendly place. Rum is very good. All of their ingredients come from local sources. Good conversation with co-owner, distillers, and investor. Join them on Facebook to find out where they are hosting an event or stop by their distillery.
Highly recommended; Great people / Great Rum / Easy Access. Picked up 4-bottles of their special spiced “Valor Rations Rum” the proceeds are used to fund veterans’ “Work & Heal” programs. They have several other “High Quality” rums too. Don’t pass up Wildcat if you’re going thru Lafayette.
This was our first harvest host stay. It exceeded our expectations by miles! From the personal tour by David, to the taste testing with Kay, our bartender, the jambalaya by Sue, the blues band to all the other very friendly employees I just can't say enough!! The rum is delicious!! You must try the dark and stormy! Yum!
Thank you David and crew!! We loved it!
One of the best distillery tours/tastings I've ever done! Tait, co-owner/president makes you feel the Cajun hospitality immediately and his selection of rums defy logic in how they taste and how well they mimic other spirits such as bourbon. We tried about 5 of their rum offerings from light to dark and several rum cocktails. The Bloody Marie (Mary) was the pinnacle. A rum bloody Mary??? Yes, and it was amazing, so amazing I bought two bottles. I can't underestimate how impactful this tour was and how it opened my eyes to how rum can taste. This is definitely not the rum you're used to and what you tried in college. Highly highly recommended!!!
Thanks Lexi for a wonderful tasting! Love the different rums/flavors, we'll be back!!
Just wanted to comment that we were disappointed the distillery wasn't open Wednesday Mar 8 at 1:00 as stated by their answering machine. We called to confirm - Google said it opened at 3. Turns out it wasn't open at all! But we met the nicest woman who came out of the building & explained why they were closed that day. We get that sometimes it's hard to keep all the balls in the air. Hope to stop back sometime again when we pass through. (we're from Ohio)
Excellent rum. He showed us around his distillery. Would definitely go again just to buy more rum.
The best rum in America. A Cajun product, through-and-through, that carries on the spirit and traditions of the Acadian-Creole heritage, helping to preserve and re-define culture, one sip at a time.
