Did a fantastic job on my sons first birthday cake
Two weeks ago I stopped by Orears to pick up cookies for my four year old's birthday party. When I pulled up I noticed a man in a wheelchair harassing customers at the gas station nextdoor, over the past few years he has harassed me twice, once at Payless by Elston, the second time at Walmart on 26. So instead of making eye contact or acknowledging his presence, I reached for my phone and was getting ready to call the police, after what seemed like 2 minutes he left the side of my car and crossed the street, stopping a car in front of St. Boniface. By this time I was I was able to get my daughter and walk into the Orears, I was a little shaken, but able to tell the lady what had happened, she told me they had called police on him before, because he would block the entryway, and they would call again. Meanwhile my daughter was very excited to pick out their amazing cookies to share with her friends, she continued to tell the lady that it was her birthday and it she was four years old that day. The lady told her Happy Birthday, and to have a great day! As I was putting my daughter into her car seat the ladies son came out of the store and gave my daughter a stuffed elephant and a book for her birthday, We told the young man Thank you very much! We were really surprised and greatful, the kindness that I was shown that day was over the top, I love the people of the town I grew up in!! Thank you for so many memories!! 🙂
Great cakes and cookies. The perfect place to pick up something sweet to celebrate. I prefer the white cake and their iced sugar cookies.
They have a nice variety of pastries and donuts there! Staff seems friendly and they seem busy. It is located outside of downtown and parking was fairly simple. Go out there and check them out! Pricing was fairly cheap as well! Half dozen was around $5!
Great variety! Please support local! They have a really cool sign and a place everyone should visit if you are on the mood for a sweet. Just be sure to wear a mask, as they state on the front door, they will have to check your temperature and they only have a rectal thermometer. Sooo funny!
Had a sweet tooth day going on so I stopped by. Had chocolate chip cookies, lemon bar, apple turnover, and carrot cupcake. The cookies were okay but not the best and a little too underdone (soft is good but not fall apart soft), carrot cupcake was a little dry but otherwise tasty, the lemon bar had some sort of cream cheese-like spreading under the lemon topping which I didn't care for and the apple turnover was probably the best thing I tried there.
However, this place has good service and people are really nice.
They made a wedding Cale for my daughter and it was absolutely delicious and decorated beautifully. I highly recommend them.
Love the cinnamon rolls. Hope they don't move.
