Decent Buffet. Don't know the reason for such a mediocre rating. I had been coming here for years, but I had quit for about two years because the rating seemed so low. I figured something must have happened. I decided to try them again and see what had transpired. And the answer is: NOTHING. There has been no change. The quality while not exceptional, is still good. Many individuals do not like to eat at a buffet for whatever reason. It's true, the food is not steaming hot, including here. But at the same time I'd have to say the the food is not desiccated due to the heat lamps. Nothing appeared dried out. The foods were constantly being replenished. The variety of sushi and nigiri was quite surprising. It looks like some of the sushi was coated with masago, unless there is a cheaper substitute, but it seemed tasty enough. They are one of the few places left that serves kim chee on their table which I really like. Their stir fried green beans are very good too. They have all of the other main players too: orange chicken, sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, walnut shrimp, crab legs, peel and eat shrimp. This was a weekend evening dining experience, so please note that many of these seafood items may not be on the weekday or evening menu. There were two tables devoted to desserts: cookies, fresh fruit, canned lychee, Jello squares, banana pudding, a couple varieties of cakes, and six to eight flavors of scoop tubs of ice cream. I had cookies and cream. If you don't care for the buffet, you can always order off of the menu. Take-out is also available.
The negatives are few. I could not locate any steamed rice. The fried rice was there though. I almost slipped twice on some liquid that was on the floor around one of the serving areas. It was eventually cleaned up. The servers throughout the restaurant were expeditious in refilling of drinks and clearing of dirty plates. It was a little quiet for seven o'clock but business picked up the later it got.
I'm glad to see Panda Buffet hasn't changed. I would like to see the steamed rice back on the table. Nevertheless, it still is serving reliable food that I'm pleased with.
The food was really good for a buffet. The problem we had was when we arrived at 11:00 am there was only one staff person so the service was slow. The positive of that was our buffet price was discounted.
Lunch Buffet. Outstanding! The best Chinese buffet in all of DFW. Everything fresh, everything tasted as it should. Friendly staff, not loud or too crowded.
Very good.
