Great food, and the Tony Wang Family couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating. Despite what you may have read in the news, Tony Wang’s is not closing. They are looking for a new location, but they are open for business! They place doesn’t look like much. The outside of the building is run down, since the landlord is trying to sell the property to a developer, expecting the building to be torn down. But do t let that keep you away. It’s a great lunch stop. I had sweet and sour pork with fried rice, egg drop soup, and Chinese tea, and my whole check was only $7.16!!
Great Chinese cuisine hiding in plain sight! Cheerful, happy staff, great portion sizes and prices too. Beyond pleased! Came from Frederick and was NOT disappointed. Best brown sauce I've had.
My dad recommended this place. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was absolutely impressed once I went inside. The style is a little outdated but everything is clean and neat. Our server and the manager were really kind and accomidating and the food was delicious. Found a new spot to frequent for sure. I highly recommend trying it out if you have not yet.
Absolutely wonderful. The service was so friendly and the food came out quickly. Best brown sauce I've ever had.
Have been going to Mr. Wang's restaurant since the early '80s. Have never had a bad meal. Usually go for the lunch combo which is served to 3pm. Yesterday arrived after 3pm and had the New York combo which is served from 3-5pm. Ordered my usual, Ma La Chicken with hot & sour soup, plain fried rice and the biggest, tastiest, egg roll ever. Wow, everything was fantastic! Tony is always there and always talkative and friendly. There is only one waitress but she is very good and very attentive. My only complaint is that I live 40 minutes away, otherwise, I would be eating here 1-2x weekly. In addition the interior is among the nicest and cleanest of any local Chinese restaurant.
Their chicken fried rice is delicious. Very flavorful and no need for extra sauce or seasoning of any kind. The owner was there and his wife was super kind. As others mentioned, it’s a pretty outdated, but who doesn’t love a good dive? I will definitely go back!
Every time I gone there, they have had great food and great prices! People talking about cockroaches is just BS. Don't let that stop you from enjoying a real good Chinese restaurant. The proportions are amazing for what they cost. And with that it is The best Chinese food I have had in a very long time.this restaurant definitely deserves five stars and that's what I'm giving them. Take my word for it and eat there one time and you will be hooked!
A lot of mixed reviews for here, but I have been giving Tony my business for almost 10 years and I have never had a bad meal. Tony, the owner obviously, has been making all the sauces from scratch since day 1. He only uses Perdue chicken and local pork and beef. BEST CHINESE!! don't let the "dive" look and 80's pink wallpaper scare you away, they are not about the looks of the place, but the quality food you get, and if you worry about how your food is cooked, you can watch the cooks in the back through the giant window into the kitchen.
My wife and I look forward to eating here. To the tourists, it looks run down. Well, it kind of is. However, the food is really good and consistent. You will almost always see Tony at the restaurant seating customers and mingling. If you drink some of your water be prepared to have it filled right back up. Try and find service like that, anywhere. Prices are great and menu is extensive.
One of Lancaster's "best kept secrets"
I have lived in Lancaster my entire life and Tony Wang's has always been my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Such friendly service, delicious food, and you can always count on Tony to be there to greet you with a smile.
Yeah, location seems a bit sketchy and the decor hasn't been updated in years, but that is all part of it's charm and what makes it special. I hope they never change a thing.
10/10 would reccomend.
