Get the Mr. Potatohead. You won’t regret it. The waffles are very light, fluffy and giant in size. This is a must stop when you visit any city they are in.
We recently had a positive experience at Wild Eggs. Thorough service, and our breakfast had a great pace to it. This place can certainly become busy, and so be prepared to wait; however, the creative menu items and the unique flavor combinations are well worth it. The coffee and the hot chocolate are rich and satisfying, and the Mr. Potato Head Casserole is one of my favorite breakfast entrees in all of Lexington (hashbrown potatoes baked with sour cream, diced onions, spices and cheddar-jack cheese, with breakfast sausage, diced tomatoes, poblano peppers, roasted mushrooms, queso fundido and eggs (over-easy)); solid bacon (but there is better in town, such as at Windy Corner), slightly dry biscuits, and above average french toast and pancakes. Instead of ordering more traditional fare, try ordering some specialty items to fully experience what Wild Eggs has to offer.
I am very much NOT a breakfast person, unless it's a cup or two of coffee. But my husband is, so while staying in Lexington, he wanted to eat breakfast before heading out to our day. We decided on Wild Eggs because it was listed as upscale chef breakfast. And it absolutely was. It took me forever to decide what I wanted, and I finally settled on the Wild Mushroom and Garlic eggs. They were great! My husband had an omelet, and it too was very very good. We shared the skillet cinnamon roll which was very good, but very much put me over the edge for eating too much in the morning, so I remained a bit sickish feeling for the day. Having said that, we'll go back when one is near, because it was a great breakfast. The price was higher for breakfast, but our Hyatt hotel offered a $10 breakfast, and my meal was only $13, so I'd skip the hotel breakfasts and go to Wild Eggs. The only things that they need to work on definitely was the fried potatoes, which were not very good at all, and better coffee, which was just run of the mill restaurant coffee. But I'm a coffee snob, so. . . .
