I've always liked this place but it just got better so I had to write a review. The young lady at the front was extremely personable and made made fiancee laugh from the start of the order to the end of the order. The place is super clean and for a seafood restaurant, it doesn't smell like seafood at all!!! And you can tell why when you get your food. The seafood is extremely fresh and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this hole-in-the-wall place if you're looking for good seafood in the Lombard area.
I stopped in heading elsewhere and it happened to be 7 mins before closing time. They said that I could still order so I asked what would be easiest for them. The gentleman suggested shrimp so got that with fries. Decent sized shrimp, a little thick on the breading for my presence but not a bad meal. Kudos for being willing to accommodate at closing time!
This place has always had really good fresh fish and now they've recently remodeled. The new look Johnson's is a nice improvement. The fish sandwich is probably one of the best deals in town, I highly recommend it.
Best shrimp you will EVER taste! Delicious breading, cooked perfectly for a crispy coating that keeps the shrimp moist and tasty.

The absolute best fried shrimp, scallops and catfish. Recommend this place to everyone and the service was friendly and very cool. Don't skip out on Lawrence's in Lombard!! They are definitely worth the stop.
Lots of shrimp and fish sandwich choices. The shrimp is plump and very flavorful. The breading adds a crunch without detracting from the shrimp flavor. The french fries also have a seasoning that adds crunch but doesn't change the taste of a good french fry. Great staff very friendly. The portions are really big.
We were satisfied and will return. Going to a new restaurant requires trying different items on the menu. We really enjoyed the cod and their Cole slaw. The popcorn shrimp was pretty good too but the fish nuggets were just okay. We were welcomed as we walked in, found it to be clean and comfortable. They were also good at checking on us plus we were thanked again on the way out.
Happy for the change. I didn't care for Johnson’s, which was in the same location before I had lightly breaded shrimp, it was very good, cod nuggets were good. Family liked the clam strips. I liked the coleslaw, the fries were really good. Crab cakes are good, but have a little kick, just fyi. Service was good! Everything to go, is packed in paper bags, and there was no grease dripping or soaking through. I will definitely go back!!!
