Wonderful little place with a big punch. Very small town "hello neighbor" feel with treats better than any chain donut shop around. The only problem I had while in there was my own lack of self control.
We have been going to Lilac Bakery for about five years. Every year, I purchase a blueberry and peach pie for my boss’ birthday and it’s always amazing and a big hit. I have also ordered several cakes from here and they have turned our amazing. The possibilities are endless! The customer service is amazing: they are very response and nice (I disagree with the other reviews). Their pricing is right now par and very reasonable. We have moved a few towns over and this is still the only bakery we will use.
I have never had anything from this bakery that I didn't love. That being said. Their bagels are AMAZING! I am ashamed of the store bought bagels I called bagels. They are chewy and flavorful. So amazing. Might I suggest a pretzel version? I could see this making amazing soft pretzel. The rye bread is unmatched.
Their cookies and also delicious and always so cutely decorated and just as scrumptious.
The brownies are fudgey and frost which I never knew I needed until now.
Their cake is delectable and the frosting is so creamy and indulgent.
Needless to say, this is my favorite bakery and everything is sinfully amazing.
We have gotten donuts here several times while in the area visiting and have not had a bad experience yet. The donuts are delicious and the other bakery items I have tried were also very good. The staff was courteous and helpful as well.

I have been going here for over 20 years. Love this bakery. I recently ordered a custom wedding cake for a friends wedding and it turned out better than I imagined. The groom loves Game of Thrones but the bride didnt want a gaudy cake. They did a great job incorporating both styles.
Lilac Bakery is a quality bakery. The donuts we bought were delicious.

Love this place! Don't live in Lombard anymore but they still make a delicious cinnamon raison round bread and mask cookies. Will be back for sure!
I use to give 5 stars by not the same owners and pastries not as good. My favorite use to be the apple strudel but the crust is no longer flaky.
The staff is excellent and deserves 5 stars.
