What a great hidden gem. This is a great date spot. The menu changes frequently and we wanted to try a little of everything. I will definitely come back.

Superb food and drink in an unlikely setting (a former classroom) with lots of natural light. Staff very friendly and helpful. Fair prices worth every penny!

Found a new brunch spot through yelp! I've been here a few times for golf and saw that they have a bar/grill area too but I've never tried it. Came here last weekend with my boyfriend for brunch and was pleasantly surprised. The waitresses were very attentive and the price was not that bad compared to other brunch spots in Forest Hills or Astoria. They have a very spacious indoor area and even an outdoor section that can be reserved for private parties too. The food was pretty good especially their waffle fries. Took off one star for forgetting my avocados in my omelette though. Otherwise, I would come back soon.

The decor is literally old school, and the menu is small, but the ingredients are all high quality. The golden beet salad w/goat cheese was delicious, and had to try the tartare burger, my first experience eating raw beef. It's been a few days since I was there, and I feel fine, so like I said, high quality. Nice selection of beers in bottles. You can tell the chef is from Canada: here it is, the 21st century, the only hot sauce they have is Tabasco, and they keep it in the refrig!

We dropped in for lunch before spending time wandering the halls of PS1. Staff are amazing -land very friendly and accommodating. The food we tried was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by us. Coffee wasn't quite to my taste. A good selection of drinks otherwise.

M Wells Dinette is a low-key and hip cafe housed within the MoMa PS1. This is no ordinary museum cafe. It offers a small selection of Quebecois-fusion dishes and serves wine, beer, and cocktails in a classroom setting. My friend and I came across this place while visiting the MoMa PS1. The cafeteria bore an exact resemblance to a large classroom. A bright airy space completed with chalkboards, wooden chairs, cubbyhole desks, and communal tables. The menus are written on big chalkboards on the side walls. The atmosphere and design of the space brought me back some memories of high school. The food far exceeded our expectations. We ordered the meat pie and the Korean bibimbap. Nicely presented and delicious. The bibimbap tasted very different from a Korean classic bibimbap. Instead of marinated beef, they substituted raw tuna and marinated raw scallop, which perplexed me a little. The meat pie was really rich but balanced. It was a double crusted pie with a savory ground beef and spice filling punctuated by the cranberry ketchup sauce. The price was just a tad higher than we expected. Single serving dishes were reasonably priced (~$10). Enough for a solo eater. Overall quality of the dishes were remarkable. The staff were all busy but attentive. It was such a charming experience.

This place is so good!!!! It is very heavy and rich and the price is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you received. I am taking down one star because the service is friendly yet slow. We had to wait a long time for dishes to arrive and to get our check, even. The setting is an old school classroom so they have long school desks as dining tables. It is rather unique and I love how they utilize the space to their liking. We tried the pot pie and it comes in a football size. My husband could barely finish it. The pastry is buttery and crispy and there is plenty of meat and gravy. We also got their famous bone marrow and it is very good. I wish there was more bone marrow though. I ordered a plate of carbona spaghetti and it is very very creamy and rich. The caesar salad is also piled with tons of cheese. I noticed they use a lot of heavy duty cheese and buttter, just the way they like it in Montreal! Anyway, I look forward to return to try other dishes and I hope I get faster service next time!

Excellent food, staff, and ambiance. I enjoyed a lovely, albiet carb heavy meal of bread, butter, and a spaghetti sandwich. It provided me the fuel I needed to continue enjoying PS1. Were I a savy date planner, I would look to slip into PS1 for a sunset viewing of James Turrell's Skyscape installation (plus whatever else you'd like to see there, just front load it so you can catch sunset from the installation), grab a quick bite at M. Wells, and then [if things are going well] move onto Domaine Vin for some wine. (Not to slight the selection of drinks available at M. Wells, but the walk down the street is a strong addition to your night out.)

This was one of my favorite meals of 2012. Fresh, high quality ingredients. You don't need to pay the museum entry fee to eat at the restaurant. My only complaint - the chairs are a little uncomfortable.

what a fun place to eat. fun and inventive, the food they serve can take you, if you are brave to try them, to some exotic places if you close your eyes. that charlotte cake is a must if you are with friends, or with a big group. the wine list is very good.
