Heard a ton of good things about Bellwether and had to try it out. Honestly, wasn’t blown away by any of the dishes I tried, despite their photogenic presentation. Still an enjoyable time in a great location. I’ll likely be back the next time they rotate their menu—appreciated the freshness of the food and still is one of the better restaurants in LIC.
Food, Drinks, and service was incredible! Beautiful presentation matched with incredible flavors! I could not pick a favorite dish we ordered or find anything negative to say about any of the dishes. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!
The key to earn 5 stars is consistency and Bellwether knows how’s to deliver.
Everything on the menu is fresh, well paired with flavors, clean and simply delicious.
The menu is not huge but every item is well thought out.
Service and ambiance are also an A+
Food is absolutely delicious. I love that they use the finest and freshest ingredients to prepare their food. Service is also excellent, the waiter is attentive and friendly. I just wish the portion could be a bit bigger, I was still kind of hungry after lunch.
Went with 6 other friends . Started with amazing “Jonah crab” and citrus salad. Both were so good so we order another one of each . Then I took the flank steak which wasn’t the best nor great. My friend who took the Bruges (patty melt) said his dish was amazing , sadly I couldn’t have it cause it contained gluten .
Bellwether is a nice restaurant. I loved the ambiance and the service; our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful. The charred brocollini was surprisingly delicious. I loved the chicken liver pate with rhubarb jelly and sourdough bread. Little gems was a great surprise too - the lettuce was so fresh and the parmesan with mustard seeds was perfect on it. I wasn't too crazy by the fluke crudo, but I liked it regardless. Our main dish was pork cheeks. It was tender and crispy at the same time, with a pineapple dressing and caramelized onions. Beautiful done. I just wish it had a little bit more of salt. It would be perfect. The only item I really didn't like was the pana cotta. Their style is a large dish with the pana cotta spread out, with granola and strawberries. The pana cotta was so spread that I couldn't taste. The granola and strawberries taste overbore the dessert and it felt like a breakfast dish. I didn't even took a picture, I was sad. In any rate, I loved being here. I will come back.
First time dining here and the food and drinks were top notch. I had the lazy day lemonade, which had cucumber vodka, lemon and mint, which was super refreshing. For apps, our crew shared the Jonah Crab, citrus salad, and the ravioli entree. They're known for their patty melt, which my friend got, but I ordered the pork cheeks, and my other friends ordered the halibut. The pork cheeks reminded me of beef stew, super tender and no knife really needed. Finished off with the key lime ice cream and rhubarb tart. The key lime ice cream was great, with ginger Graham crust, but the rhubarb yayy didn't really taste like rhubarb to me, or it was very subtle. All in all, great meal, beautiful decor and definitely would come back. Hopefully, we can get an outdoor table next time.
