Quite good. I went there yesterday, Thursday, August 8, 2013, with a friend for lunch about about 1:30pm.
First off, I want to mention how much I appreciated the employees Very polite and seemed happy to be of service. Especially in NYC, that's refreshing to see! The young man behind the counter, who was training a new female cashier, was just as nice, and professional, as he could be!
Location... I live in Midtown Manhattan. As a Manhattanite, I'm loathe to leave the island. That being said, this LIC location was quite painless to get to. One stop out of Manhattan, and 4 short blocks from the subway station (even with my bad foot).
Now for the food.
This is one of the best burgers I've had in NYC! It's very close in quality, taste, and presentation to In-N-Out Burger (which I consider to be just this side of crack cocaine). The Double Cheese Burger (see attached photo) was very hot and very nice quality. I would have preferred just a little more char on the patties, but still cannot complain. I will definitely be back.
The fries were good, though I regret forgetting to order them Cajun style. The lack of fountain soda (cans only) was bothersome, but was soon forgotten with the quality of this burger! The onion rings were the only disappointment. While there was a much more generous portion than most joints, they were not great quality. More breading than actual onion. I won't order them again.
Great cheeseburger and delicious sweet potato fries! Cajun fries are spicy!!!
Wonderful BLT. I ordered a BLT and some sweet potato fries and was blown away by the taste, freshness, amount, and just all around goodness. NO, I don't know the owners. I do know a good BLT. It was a perfect proportion of all of the necessary ingredients. Not too much lettuce and plenty of bacon. The sweet potato fries were the best I have tasted in Queens. There is a place in the Upper West Side that also has great sweet potato fries but I live in Astoria and well, these are much closer aren't they.
I have to visit the Astoria Petey's though I do so enjoy the vibe on Vernon.
Best burger I've ever had. Try the Petey melt with Cajun fries. You won't regret it.
Great place to grab a burger. Very tasty, fries are amazing. Portions are perhaps on smaller side but it's very tasty
The closest burger to In-N-Out I’ve found in NY! My husband and I have been on a hunt for a good burger in LIC and this is hands-down the best one we’ve found.
I was in LIC and saw this place. I hadn't been there before. I walked inside to get a quick lunch. I ordered their cheeseburger combo, which includes fries and a soda. The burger was cooked reasonably well and worked well with the extra toppings. The price was decent too. It's far from the best burger ever, but makes for a good lunch option.
The triple cheeseburger is out of the world and costs just $8.49.Juicy and flavorful burgers
than bigger chains like Five Guys.
I took a side of sweet potato fries and I was apprehensive at first but I was mind blown by its taste. A perfect fast food place under $15.

It was very good food. And calm environment. Ordered the double cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and soda. Reasonable NYC pricing. Would come here again and try out their special burgers.
It's been a while since I had Petey's Burger! It is still almost as good as it was when it first opened on Vernon Ave., LIC. I would claim that it is one of the best fast food burgers in NYC.
I suggest trying Cajun fries if you are into spicy food.
Fun little fast food burger joint. The portions of fries are fairly large. Burgers come in single, doubles and triples. The double is my standard, a single if I want a smaller size, and the triple if I am really hungry. Price is little higher for straight fast food but the quality makes up for it. Combo meals are about 11 bucks for the double burger. Shakes not bad but could be bigger for 5 bucks. Cheese fries are also pretty good. Seems to be a pretty decent place for take out or delivery. I have only been for the sit down counter service.
California fries are delicious burgers are really good.
The burgers are amazing here. I highly recommend trying them out when you can. They have an awesome menu and their prices are reasonable.
