We stumbled upon this place after we discovered Tony's Famous Deli wasn't so famous. And boy am I glad we did! The staff at Four Cafe was incredibly patient and helpful with their hearty but (mostly) healthy menu. My spouse chose the fish burger on a brioche bun which comes with a beautifully fresh and tasty mixed greens side salad. The fish was fresh, the slaw was crisp and the bun was soft - such a great combination. I had the asparagus tart made with ricotta and gruyere on puff pastry which was mouth-watering and just delightful. It came with a simple, but tasty, arugula salad. I had a beer and she had a kumbucha. The desserts were incredible - we chose two cookies, the brown butter lavender shortbread and the Mexican hot chocolate. Shortbread was sublime, it's all about the brown butter! But if I had to rate cookies in my life I'd have to say that the VEGAN Mexican hot chocolate is now one of my top 2 or 3 favorite cookies ever.
So glad we found this little gem, we'll definitely be back.

Delicious, fresh menu with a little bit of everything. Love their soups, salads, fish burger, lavender shortbread cookies and brownies.
Staff greets diners by name. Great music playlists and sidewalk tables. All good to great! this place!
Came here in a recommendation from a couple of locals who’ve been around for 15 and 20 years. We needed to go somewhere quick and yummy. They have indoor and parklet seating. We both ordered the salmon plate. We weren’t super hungry so the salmon was just right. There was slaw with light dressing and not slathered with mayo which was perfect. device was quick yet friendly.
If you are craving something delicious - and want to feel great after - go to Four Cafe. I love their creative, energetic, healthy salads & soups. Friends have loved their sandwiches too (I just love their salads too much to try the sammies). I always feel invigorated after dining here. Extras I love are their iced coconut green tea & the lavender shortbread cookie.
If you love a local cafe that makes everything from scratch and offers meat, fish, gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options, this is a great spot. I just stumbled upon it and had the 1/2 soup 1/2 salad combo, and it was excellent! Kabocha squash bisque and warm fall salad were both excellent, satifying, and each had a lot of thought and effort put into them, which I appreciate. They really hit the spot. I'll be back as I'm a big fan of this type of establishment: Casual, yet serious about what they do. Warm atmosphere with cool art and music, and the food was ready really quickly. I'm excited to try the rest of the menu.
I REALLY like this restaurant. Not only is the food good, but this place is really worth going to. I especially like the buttered pasta and broccoli. The lighting is dim, but not TOO dim, and it really sets the mood. Four cafe is the best!
Good wifi, nice outdoor seating and quick/friendly service.
super subtle but good flavors...brownie was moist and memorable
Really enjoyed this spot! I had the coconut green tea and the Buddha bowl, both were excellent. The Buddha bowl is DELICIOUS. If you like the Humble bowl at Cafe Gratitude, this bowl has similar flavors but might be even better! The Kabocha squash is excellent, and the curried cauliflower and sautéed mustard greens are so flavorful, and the apricot drizzle adds the perfect sweetness.
Excellent meal, service was below average. Granted, you order at the register, and you get a number and find your own table. But considering there were maybe 3 or 4 others ahead of us, a breakfast/lunch took over 20+ minutes to get out to us. How are there over 6 workers behind the counter and less than half empty restaurant and food took so long to get? Pictures of the food below. When it did get out to us, we had to request things like syrup, condiments, etc, since none were brought out. Anyone eat pancakes plain? Once again, 3 or 4 tables besides us, and the server forgot. There were at least 3 different people bringing out food to 3-4 tables. They don't have to take orders which is why I find it strange that service is so subpar. So I had to go get it myself at the front counter. Back to the food. It was prepared perfectly. Flavors were fantastic, quality of food on par with Urban Plates or True Foods in Pasadena. Vegan options available. None for me thanks. Parking is streetside only. Plenty of meters up and down the street. Would visit again. 3 people, check came out to $52 with tip. Chicken panini was good, 2 eggs and bacon breakfast was great as the potato's were seasoned perfect, and the rustic sourdough toast with whipped butter were delicious. Meatloaf topped with an egg reminded me of a more hearty version of eggs Benedict. And the pancakes were crisp and light. Not too dense. Their fruit compote (not pictured ) was homemade possibly, but the actual fresh fruit came out Frozen in bits. Overall, still a 5 for food, 3 for service. 4 stars. Solid.
Ok…. Best panini I’ve had in YEARS!
I’m truly blown away at the deliciousness I just experienced. It was my first time eating at Four Cafe and I’ll definitely be coming back. The chicken panini had fluffy bread, crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside. The melted Brie is incredible. Salad was good too!!! Everyone loved their meal, thanks Four Café!
All the food I've eaten here such as burgers, sandwich and salads have that balance of ingredients that make your taste buds come alive. I highly recommend. And the employees are both courteous and professional (a lost art these days). Last night I popped in for a bahn mi sandwich and it was so tasty I might have another for breakfast.
