Four stars for the experience. The sushi quality is B-grade at best but worth the price of AYCE. Did it for the 'gram and have no regrets. Service was also subpar. Since so many seats are side-by-side (to be able to take in the scenic view of downtown LA), I wouldn't recommend going with a large group.
My wife and I came here right when they opened for lunch. Although it is known as a revolving sushi place, most people actually seem to order a la carte. We only ended up picking up a few things off the I conveyor belt as there was not a very wide variety of dishes on the belt, even an hour after opening. The view is amazing and the prices are correspondingly high but fortunately you're getting more than just the view for your money. The quality of the sushi is excellent. We spent about $80 per person for lunch, and we did not order alcohol. The best value on the menu is the mini chirashi bowl which was also such a visual treat it's hard to believe it's cheaper than most of the sushi options.
A 69-floor Sora Sushi restaurant at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown offers a great Omakase with very fresh fishes, elegant presentations and unique and different plating, plus a specular view of the heart of the Downtown Los Angeles Financial District.
Sous Chef Jessica personally made all courses, while waiter Juan delivered each dish, who worked there two months before the restaurant was open in June 2017.
Manager Frank Seridat supervises the Sora with his many years' culinary experience.
